The WiFi Comrade operates by monitoring the BlackBerry’s connection to the cellular network. By remembering the unique ID transmitted by each cell tower, WiFi Comrade can determine the BlackBerry’s current location. WiFi Comrade uses these locations to infer when WiFi connectivity is available and when it is not.
