Great Bluetooth Headset for your BlackBerry – Jawbone ICON

I gave Jawbone a shot a few years ago, but hated its size and wasn’t so amazed by quality. As time went by, Jawbone released several models of Bluetooth headsets and I honestly didn’t give them a chance up until now. A friend of mine just picked up a Jawbone ICON, and as I never heard of it, I had to try it out. From what I read about it, this fancy headset was developed originally for use in tanks and helicopters. When you know something’s created for a far higher industry in a rugged situation, it’s always amazing for the average consumer. There’s a new feature called “NoiseAssassin” which indeed eliminates background noise when talking on the phone.

Other cool features? There’s a Voice Activity Sensor that feels your speech which allows the Jawbone to distinguish your voice from the background noise. Basically you’ll be offered a flawless conversation when on the phone in noisy areas. Noise cancellation has been a huge issue for me lately as many Bluetooth headset makers do have that equipped, but just doesn’t work as smoothly since they’re all on different technology strategies.

How about comfort? The Jawbone ICON is very comfortable on the ear and doesn’t have all the crazy ear penetration and bands to go all over your ear. It’s time for a sleek small shape with some comfort at last. It may seem complicated to put on in the beginning, but that’s just the intense engineering of the headset as it’s very easy to put on, and sits firmly in the ear. And of course, black is not mandatory. In fact, the Jawbone PRIME comes in six different colors as seen above, all really sleek with different textures for each one.
