Review: Remote Desktop App (RDM+) for BlackBerry
by Mac Jadalhack
For awhile I had no idea that RDM+ was supporting Mac OS, but I decided to check and found that it did indeed support. Being a Mac user, I quickly got a copy of RDM+ to test out all its amazing features. Overall, if you are looking to get remote access to your PC or Mac, then RDM+ is an excellent piece of software you should use as it is pretty cheap at a $39.99 price tag. I was so amazed by the application as I spent all night playing around with it, taking advantage of all its great features.

What I liked:
I was able to see my full screen resolution of my MacBook with zooming capability. Nothing was sloppy or distorted as everything was clear to see. The best part about it is the fact that you can browse all files on your computer remotely through the app, without actually using the visual display. Within RDM+, there’s a file browser where you can go through any of your important documents, pictures, music, and everything else. After finding what you’re looking for, feel free to download it right to your BlackBerry. Remote file access seemed priceless as is for me, and on top of all of that, I was able to visually see my desktop, click around, and open what I wanted. To go back to the beginning, connecting to your PC or Mac works a charm. You get a unique ID code for your the computer which will need to be entered in RDM+ via BlackBerry and that’s it. Forget entering endless IP addresses and crazy extensions which result in a bunch of trial and error sessions.
What I didn’t like:
I know it isn’t easy to emulate your computer on a tiny low processor BlackBerry, but I was looking forward to smoother movement and less lag when playing around with my desktop. File access and downloading works a charm and I have nothing negative to say about that. As I just mentioned, the visual displays could use some work with its responsiveness, but that is something I would definitely expect to see improved in later versions. The iPhone has a remote desktop application that works wonders and is very smooth whether you’re on 3G or WiFi. I strongly believe the same capabilities can come to the BlackBerry platform. Of course, this app will drain your battery fast, but that’s something you should already expect with such a high grade app.
If you’re interested in this application, you can head over to the PocketBerry Store today and grab your copy for only $39.99 or even download the trial free for 7 days.
