Verizon customers have become very oblivious to backups when it comes to BlackBerry.  I don’t know if it’s just me but most of my BlackBerry Messenger buddies who have Verizon end up resending their PIN to everyone, due to lack of backups and device switching.  I blame a lot of this on Verizon doing in-store device exchange, but that isn’t an issue anymore as Verizon no longer does in-store exchanges for smartphones.  So here’s a new user friendly idea I am very fond of Verizon for doing.  I’m not saying Verizon BlackBerry customers need to be spoonfed, as I encourage apps like this to come to other carriers as well, but we’ll see more productivity with this for sure.

Verizon is scheduled to bring a wireless backup assistant app for BlackBerry which is going to make its debut on March 9th according to BerryScoop.

The application seems to be really savvy as you can select both manual and automatic backups to do at specific times.  Each user will create their own unique pin number which will help when switching to another BlackBerry or even reinstalling the OS.
