Miscellaneous Thoughts »

As many online publications are reporting, it seems to be the case. Or is it not? Perhaps RIM is just saying that you can tweet from your BlackBerry, not making any reference to its native Twitter client which is expected to launch this month. On the other hand, maybe they are and have launched this ad in India resulting in the RIM marketing team saying “oops.” From my own personal thoughts about it, this was no mistake. RIM is putting the word “Twitter” into most of their marketing now which applies for both today and tomorrow. Today, there are one too many Twitter clients available for the BlackBerry, while tomorrow (not literally tomorrow) RIM will launch their official BlackBerry Twitter client, making their ads still appear appropriately.

Here we are all excited about seeing OS 5.0.1 when 5.7.0 pops up out of nowhere. Just to quickly recap what we’re seeing, its a BlackBerry 9990 running OS 5.7.0.151. If you can recall, we heard rumors in the past and some some odd (maybe fake) screenshots of a Rogers poster with the BlackBerry 9900 which is assumed to be a touch screen and QWERTY device. We even heard recent rumors that the device could come this year also, but details are still too general and based off of rumors. This screenshot popped up on BBMCHAT’s Twitter today and we are still amazed by it and want to see more.
As for observations, this doesn’t look like the QWERTY touch screen BlackBerry we saw not too long ago. Let’s face it, the screen here looks pretty damn long as if it were a Storm (or how about a Pearl Flip). I must say, it gets me happy seeing its a 3G device, as many of you thought was going to be the norm for all next generation BlackBerry smartphones, but we have a BlackBerry Curve 8910 coming with no 3G. What are your thoughts on this?

This isn’t the ideal way of installing an OS, but according to Ronen from BerryReview, it’s how you do it through MS DOS prompt, bypassing BlackBerry Desktop Manager. So the significance of this picture is not so much the BlackBerry Curve 8910, but more or so OS 5.0.1.205 being spotted. What’s the point? OS 5.0.1 is said to have widget support, and from the looks of it, the BlackBerry Curve 8910 will be rockin’ that hot stuff.

I gave Jawbone a shot a few years ago, but hated its size and wasn’t so amazed by quality. As time went by, Jawbone released several models of Bluetooth headsets and I honestly didn’t give them a chance up until now. A friend of mine just picked up a Jawbone ICON, and as I never heard of it, I had to try it out. From what I read about it, this fancy headset was developed originally for use in tanks and helicopters. When you know something’s created for a far higher industry in a rugged situation, it’s always amazing for the average consumer. There’s a new feature called “NoiseAssassin” which indeed eliminates background noise when talking on the phone.

I love the BlackBerry commercial. None of you can deny that it is really entertaining and has lots of pep. But there was never a story to it, and it just didn’t make any sense to me. Finally I came across one on YouTube that makes perfect sense and yes, we actually see appearances of the BlackBerry this time.
Disclaimer: The commercial may be seem to be offensive, but this is all just in comic relief. Sorry in advanced to those who find it in appropriate. This is not the official commercial for BlackBerry, nor is it by RIM in any way as it has been modded.

For awhile I had no idea that RDM+ was supporting Mac OS, but I decided to check and found that it did indeed support. Being a Mac user, I quickly got a copy of RDM+ to test out all its amazing features. Overall, if you are looking to get remote access to your PC or Mac, then RDM+ is an excellent piece of software you should use as it is pretty cheap at a $39.99 price tag. I was so amazed by the application as I spent all night playing around with it, taking advantage of all its great features.
