A few days ago, we were given the opportunity to play around with CyberSynchs.  Overall, the service rocks if you have a lot of vital data on your BlackBerry, and are too lazy like myself to make backups through BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  CyberSynchs keeps four main points in mind for you: Safety, Security, Accessibility, and Compatibility.  In safety, the app will backup and keep another copy of all your information safely (and privately) just in case you need to pull it up later.  With security options, you’ll fee rest assured that all of your information is equipped with high security, preventing hackers and other people obtaining your data.  In accessibility, you’ll be able to access your information anywhere you are without having to worry about carrying your data around or losing it.  With compatibility, you can easily transfer information and data between different types of phones, even if they are different kinds.

Fixmo Tools is the answer to any missing links on your BlackBerry.  There’s just so much to it.  As the app stands at a pricey $19.99, you’ll be getting a lot for it.  Check out the features of Fixmo Tools:

  • Undelete is your phone’s “recycling bin.” You can retrieve deleted email, PIN messages, calendar events, tasks, and memos. Undelete is integrated into the existing message system menus.
  • Flame Retardant helps you save face. It warns if you’re about to:
  • • Reply All to a message on which you were BCC’d when you want to reply only to the sender,
  • • Use potentially inappropriate content, such as profanities or excessive punctuation and capitalization (which can imply shouting),
  • • Add unintended recipients. Flame Retardant will ask you to double-check your recipient list based on the domains you’re sending to. Keep clients and friends off of those internal business emails!
  • Silencer watches your calendar and completely silences during scheduled events. (No rings, alerts, or other sounds) For unexpected events, use Quick Silence, and set it for any duration. (The movie theatre will thank you.)
  • Forward/Reply with Edit lets you edit the original message when you reply or forward it. Like Undelete, this essential utility integrates seamlessly into the existing BlackBerry e-mail menus.
  • Battery Watch is your early warning system. It monitors power usage and warns you when your battery reaches low levels. Detailed statistics estimate how much talk, browsing, standby and other app time you have left so you don’t run out at a bad time.
  • Memory Monitor is your phone’s “check up.” It tracks detailed memory stats and gives you an insight into your phone’s performance across both RAM and device memory.

Fixmo Tools is available at the PocketBerry Store for $19.99.  If you decide to purchase, drop us a line and let us know what you think about it.  Click the link below to read more info on Fixmo Tools, including more screenshots.

The wait is over ladies and gentleman.  As I registered to be informed when it was available like many, the day finally came.  What are our impressions so far? Well the app is a whole 1.1MB, but that doesn’t phase me on a BlackBerry Bold 9700.  The application seems to run very smooth browsing through books, but I’ll be honest with you, as I had my ebooks on Kobo, which was formerly Shortcovers.  Any way, go ahead and download the application for yourselves, keeping in mind that it is beta.  Enjoy.

Compatibility: Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Curve 8520, Curve 8900, Storm 9530, Storm 9550, Tour 9630

I am honestly far more impressed with the BlackBerry U2 Mobile Album application. We were really excited for it at first, but the application doesn’t seem like one that RIM would release.  Ever since I saw the home screen icon for it, I hated it.  It’s very pixelated, and nothing is actually proportional in the application (including the BlackBerry logo on the loading screen, you’ll see).  Thats a screenshot of what you’ll get when loading the app so don’t get so impressed by it.  On the other hand, this is more of a convenient application than it is a day in and out functional one.  If you need to purchase an accessory, you do so right from your BlackBerry through ShopBlackBerry.com via this app right here!  It’s available for US and Canada to my knowledge now so head over to the BlackBerry App World to download it.

It’s no surprise as we got leaked details about the BlackBerry Storm 2 coming to T-Mobile UK.  At first, it was going around that it was just T-Mobile, but as the post kept getting retweeted, it came to all our realizations that T-Mobile UK was getting it only.  Sorry US customers.  Any way, if you’re a T-Mobile UK customer, you can get one of these bad boys with a plan of £30 or higher.  It looks like T-Mobile UK is beating Rogers at getting the Storm 2! Thanks Ricky for the hat tip!

It’s about time! We’ve been in beta for WeatherEye 2.0 for quite some time now, and months later finally the official build launches.  Overall, the app looks a little bit different as it did a face lift. So what’s new in 2.0?

  • Redesigned GUI
  • Multiple Locations
  • Hourly forecasts
  • POP in long term forecast
  • Maps (not sure what for, though)

WeatherEye is a freebie app available at the BlackBerry App World, If you’re like me using BerryWeather, this is a cool one to try out, but don’t expect all the cool radar maps and awesome features here.
