Phase is an awesome theme, and the latest edition from the folks over at Elecite.  This theme will take your homescreen to a whole new level.  On the homescreen you’ll see panel icons that let you access pictures, options, browser, calendar, messages, and address book.  Also it has a hidden menu that gives 9 customizable icon slots for which ever apps you’d like.  For only $6.99, you can have this theme on your BlackBerry.

Bla1ze over at CrackBerry reported a strange icon appearing after installing OS 5.0.0.586 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700.  It’s called Application Updater, and its homescreen icon looks like a flower.  It says there is an update available with nothing exactly to update.  If any of you have encountered this also or have an idea as to what it may be exactly, drop us a line below.

UPDATE: Our friend Eric from OCK has dropped us a nice comment clarifying some details:

The icon in question is the one in the top left which is the one that is currently in focus (the one with the flower that has the notification on it is just a coincidence and makes the CrackBerry post a lil misleading). But I’ve seen the application updater on so many BlackBerry’s in the past that I don’t know why it is “newsworthy” today over there.

Well if you have an early bird BlackBerry Pearl 9100 somehow, I guess this could come to use.  This is the unofficial OS for the BlackBerry Pearl 9100.  We’re getting pretty excited with more 9100 news surfacing as many do believe something will be announced about it next month at WES.

I’m not so big on the idea.  SureType should be as far as RIM goes with a basic keyboard.  But I guess they’d like to reach out to everyone, and by putting in a T9 enabled device, it will certainly do just that.  So the Pearl 9100 was rumored to comin QWERTY also, as we saw the keyboard on sale in the past.  This is a rendered image from the folks over at BBNews.pl to show you what to expect of this new T9 device.  Hit the jump to check out the computer screenshot showing that a 9100 and 9105 will be existent.

So here’s the latest leak for the day that arrived late last night.  Luckily, the link is still live, so you’ll all be able to catch it while you can.  This is OS 5.0.0.607 for the BlackBerry Storm 2 9550.  Download and install at your own risk as this is an unofficial leaked version.  Don’t forget to do a backup before anything else! Enjoy.

It sounds kind of funny doesn’t it? China Mobile will be launching BlackBerry smartphones from both the past and future.  Bringing back the retro BlackBerry Curve 8310, China Mobile plans on getting everyone in on a RIM device, even at a low cost.  As for the Curve 8910, we have no word about this device yet, other than a few screenshots of it out in the open and general specs.  We have no time frame on the expected launches, as it would be quite convenient to know there where and whens on the 8910.

Last week we gave you the word about Cricket putting out some prepaid BlackBerry smartphones soon, but we didn’t know which ones would take off exactly.  As we guessed, the BlackBerry Curve 8530 is confirmed according to BGR.  It will be launched officially August 2010 with a price of $349.99.  We don’t have any information on the month to month data rates yet, but I’m sure they’ll be popping up soon.

The PocketBerry Store just got better than ever.  Traditionally we always had games, themes, apps, and accessories bundled up in tabs, and you can view them all one by one upon requesting to.  The application was always straight forward, but did confuse many with everything overlapped, sort of.  Now as the PocketBerry Superstore, we’re able to have apps, games, themes, and accessories individually divided making it easier for you to browse via BlackBerry.

In celebrating the new launch, all applications, games, and themes are 20% off using the PocketBerry Superstore.  All you have to do is use the coupon code “super” at checkout in order to receive the discount.
