Mobile Email Increases In Popularity Among Students
by The PocketBerry Team
We all know how amazingly easy it is to read emails on our BlackBerry smartphones. It’s also no secret that other mobile devices used to read email have become incredibly popular, particularly among college students. Some of these devices include Android, iPhone, and yes the BlackBerry. Earlier today as I found an official email from Rutgers University (the college I go to) talking about mobile email.
“The service has experienced an extraordinary increase in demand for email reading. This appears to be due to a sudden increase in the use of mobile devices for accessing email. Service access has increased over 40% since the end of last semester and requires us to make some major adjustments to service configurations. We expect this work to significantly improve service performance”
So universities nationwide (perhaps worldwide) may be adjusting their email servers now or in the near future to help accommodate student need for email on the go. This is something that you can expect to affect your school as well in the near future.
