VZ Navigator for BlackBerry Displays Ads – Why Pay?

Yesterday Ehab and I were in need of some navigation going to a barbeque.  He used the latest version of VZ Navigator which is Verizon’s GPS navigation application for BlackBerry, costing about $10 per month.  Something Ehab noticed was that advertisements displayed when viewing the turn by turn directions list.  It said “Sponsored Ad:” the it displayed some text about Bank of America.  At first I was confused, because it’s obvious that VZ Navigator is a premium month to month app, but by adding advertisements, why not be freeware? If you’re getting advertisements on your VZ Navigator, let us know how you feel and if you have taken this up with Verizon Wireless.

I agree, I don't want to fork out $10 a month for a app if it's goin' to have advertisements. That's something you should only see on free apps.
