Prepaid BlackBerry Smartphones Coming To Cricket Wireless
by Otoniel Bruno
Prepaid BlackBerry seems to be the newest trend these days, especially in the United States. We have both Boost Mobile and T-Mobile who have launched prepaid BlackBerry services. Cricket Wireless is next in line now. Their rates are pretty decent, given that they are prepaid, and it has been confirmed that the price will not be anymore than $299 according to Matt from BlackBerry Cool. As a little bio on Cricket, they are a small contract-free carrier serving over four million users at the moment. Here are their current rates:
- $30/month unlimited calling
- +$10/month unlimited text, MMS and voicemail
- $50/month email and GPS services (unsure if the above is included)
- $60/month for data in the form of “mobile video clips and 100 minutes of roaming”
There is no word on which BlackBerry smartphone will be launched by Cricket Wireless, but it is a matter of time until it is announced. I am pretty certain we’ll be seeing the BlackBerry Curve 8520 make it debut as Fido has done the same. Stay tuned for more as Cricket rolls out the BlackBerry.
