Two of our corporate Verizon buddies are giving us heads up about the BlackBerry Tour 2 aka Bold 9650 official launch date. There is no specific date set yet, but of course we all know it’s not going to be first quarter anymore (obviously). Our sources suggest that it will be coming sometime during second quarter (the middle most likely) with no launch date and confirmation in regard to the new name change to the Bold 9650. Personally, I hope this gets scrapped and they just keep a Tour to avoid all confusion. We already have an alleged Bold 9700a slider with touch screen, so to add another device to the Bold family is just way too much for us humans to bare.
Keep in mind these are all rumors we are passing on to you folks as they have to us the same way. As we get closer to launch dates, we’ll have more information.

CDMA users may have issues with the app as the developers suggest but try it anyway as it works fine on my Verizon 8530.

Some may have no need for screensavers when charging their BlackBerry smartphones, but if you have a charging dock or just would like one, then definitely give this a try. These are two separate screensavers for BlackBerry absolutely free to download. One is Earth and the other is Mars.

My favorite Twitter client is going at it again! UberTwitter got an awesome update late last night as we were flicking through Twitter and saw folks were chatting away about it. Including lots of bug fixes and semi add-ons, I’m pretty satisfied with it. Here’s the full change log:
- Java exceptions on device boot – Fixed issue where java exceptions would be reported on device reboot due to lack of permissions.
- Opt-out of sponsored tweets – Users can now opt out of receiving sponsored tweets.
- Goto User bug fix – Fixed bug where entering a user not in your timeline and then pressing trackball wouldn’t use the text you entered but instead find the closest match from your friends list.
- Everyone Near You – Fixed bug where it wouldn’t uses your current location, and sometimes would revert to somewhere off the coast of Africa. Also increased the distance to a 10 mile radius, in the future we will let you select this.
- Mini-Icon Notification – Fixed bug where if the app didn’t have certain permissions not related to the mini-icon, it still wouldn’t show the mini-icon.
- Fine-Tuned control of visual notifications – There are now three settings each for the mini-icon and application icon so you can fine-tune the control over how you want each to notify you. Also, the number next to the mini-icon will only reflect the number of new tweets of the type it is tracking. For example, if you only set the mini-icon to track new DMs, then the number next to the mini-icon will only reflect the number of new DMs.

Today’s leak goes to the good old BlackBerry Bold 9700 (not so old at all). This is OS 5.0.0.545 which was spotted online earlier this morning and sent in to us as a tip by Richie7. Of course it’s a leak so download and install at your own risk.

In the latest BlackBerry Newsletter, RIM lets us know that the Twitter and LinkedIn applications are coming soon. Ronen from BerryReview brings up a funny point as RIM exemplifies Twitter as a business app which i found hilarious myself. I’m already using Twitter for BlackBerry, but I’d still like to see more improvements in the final build. As for the LinkedIn application, I’m very excited to give this one a test drive, hopefully it’s savvy and not so much laggy.

As Bing locks itself on Verizon BlackBerry smartphones, AT&T conveniently has Google, and T-Mobile will be joining the team soon according to rumors. So Yahoo will be getting dropped as the default search, and Google will gladly take its place, conveniencing T-Mobile BlackBerry users everywhere. T-Mobile BlackBerry users can already opt out of Yahoo and change it to Google manually where Verizon BlackBerry users are not allowed to at all. Some might not find the info to be useful, but in my personal opinion, I prefer it locked and loaded on Google for a nice fresh search at any time. According to Network World, this will be occurring soon, but no date is officially set yet. Stay tuned for more as we get more about this rumor.

Shazam just got cooler. Before we used to just let Shazam figure out what song is playing and we had the option to purchase the song or just have it saved in a list within the app. Now Shazam has went through an awesome update allowing you to watch the music video of songs you tag right through YouTube. Twitter is everywhere, and now it’s in Shazam too. You can tweet tagged songs to your fellow Twitter friends. Also, with the store integration, it is easier than ever to purchase music now through Shazam as you can buy it directly through the 7Digital Musc Store.
- Watch music videos of tagged songs and more via YouTube
- Tweet tags to your followers
- Buy music direct from the 7Digital music store.
If you haven’t been prompted for the update, you can manually download it today by using the link below.

Busy? Forgetful? Or just plain old smart? MessageSchedule will help you. Basically this does what it says on the tin! it is a message schedule application which you can use to sms or email at a time which suites you.
It is great to remind you or others, to use for both business and personal, however in my opinion it has two flaws, small flaws but still flaws. With a email you can not have any attachments added to any scheduled mail and you are only able to select one contact for each message scheduled.
So for some it is a big deal for others just a little glitch, what good is it to send a scheduled message with an attachment to your boss to be sent first thing Monday morning, when if you send it the Friday afternoon it will be waiting for him (or her!) Monday morning anyway!
