Kim Kardashian, one of our favorite BlackBerry users yet just got some additions on her BlackBerry Bold 9700.  She must of been jealous of her sister Khloe who recently made the switch. Last time we saw, she had a Curve 8900 where she took pictures of herself half naked to some lucky guy.  Not so lucky, as the picture publicized all over the interwebs.  From the look of it, this could be some Colorware added to it.  I say this because, not only has the chrome bezel been replaced with a gold one, but the BlackBerry emblem also is gold.  We don’t know what the front face looks like as we only see the back portion here.  On the other hand, maybe Kim ordered some parts from CNN.cn or TrueSupplier and did the operation herself.  Yeah right.

As fun and convenient BlackBerry is for us all, it is further convenient to your employers.  According to an article we read over at CBS 4, the BlackBerry smartphone adds an extra 10 days of work per year.  These studies were done by London Telegraph where they calculated how much extra work time BlackBerry owners were actually putting in just by owning the device.

Tether for BlackBerry, formerly known as TetherBerry just got a small update today, fixing bugs some of you may have encountered.  I personally haven’t had any issues using Tether lately, other than getting disconnected a few times, but I blame that on AT&T’s unstable network.  Any way, you should see some bug fixes and a faster UI according to the email we got today about the update.

If you haven’t tried Tether before, you can definitely grab a copy as a 7 day trial to get your feet wet before committing to purchase.

This was supposed to launch before today, but due to unknown reasons, we had to pull the plug on the post until today. As you all know, Viper is rolling out its SmartStart for BlackBerry which allows you to start, unlock, lock, and open trunk from virtually anywhere.  We got the official green light yesterday that the Viper SmartStart is officially available as of now.  SmartStart is a new, but scary concept of starting your car if you think about it.  When I mention scary, I don’t mean it in a bad way, as none of us ever thought we’d see ways to start our vehicles from a BlackBerry. You can check out more info about the product over at Viper.com/SmartStart. Hit the jump to check out the full video demo for Viper SmartStart including the full press release.

Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion.  It’s amazing to see how far we’ve gone with BlackBerry themes.  Options are endless and there’s just so many places to grab both freebies and premium ones.  Today we decided to put what we like and personally use when it comes to themes. I’m not so big on Slacker, but I do recall getting a few streaming error messages a few times when trying out the all new 3.0 version that launched not too long ago.  Based on what I read today, all the bugs have not been fixed yet even with today’s all new update ranking at 3.0.454.  Ronen from BerryReview says he has to restart his Bold 9700 at least once a day using Slacker 3.0, which is very much a tragic event to occur on such a powerful BlackBerry.  Any way, feel free to point your BlackBerry Browser to slacker.com to update your version today.  Let us know about any other bugs you find in this version as from what we understand, they’re still floating around in the app.

I don’t know about all of you but I received some annoying BlackBerry Messenger spam, far more annoying than all the other Haiti and BBM 6.0 ones.  The latest one is titled “New BBM Codes and tricks enjoy!!!”  Then you’ll see the hyper link followed after is a Comcast homepage.  So what does it do? It will really annoy you so try it at your own risk.  Upon opening the link, it’ll give you consistent pop-up messages like “hello,” “how are you,” “insert your name” (you can really type your name in), and so much more.  At the end you’ll get the same screen as seen above, so sorry for the spoiler.  If you’d like to try it click here or point your BlackBerry Browser to home.comcast.net/~wolfand/. Feel free to try it on a PC too, but I don’t recommend it anywhere!

So much for having an actual application.  Ricky just let us know about BBC releasing the iPlayer, which right off the bat we believed to be an application.  Based on tips we received about a month ago, we still thought it was going to be an application.  BBC iPlayer came out to be just a mobile website to watch clips and full length videos from BBC right on BlackBerry.  Currently the only supported devices are the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and Storm2.  On the brighter side, I must say that it is nice to be able to stream long full videos on BlackBerry rather than 30 second clips, so it’s not so bad in the end.  The bottom line is that many of us were expecting to see an actual application based on BBC’s hype.
