We knew something would be mentioned at CTIA this year about the Twitter for BlackBerry client. A few months back before it went in private beta, we were thinking that the app would be announced at CTIA, but as we already did have the announcement of it coming, we got a confirmation instead! So March 31st is the day it shall officially go public to everyone as it has been confirmed at CTIA today. As many of you know (who are following me on Twitter), I haven’t been using Twitter for BlackBerry full time as it still doesn’t seem stable and the lag just kills me. Ronen from BerryReview suggests adding a Tetris game in to give you something to do while it lags. I agree. So hold on to your seats folks because the official Twitter for BlackBerry client is launching at the end of the month with lots of improvements. Hit the jump to check them out.

The leakage goes on. This time it’s out to the BlackBerry Bold 9700. Last time around, the Bold 9700 got an official update from Vodafone bringing it up to 5.0.0.545, but this leak takes it a bit further. Here is the unofficial OS 5.0.0.566 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700. As it is a leak, download and install at your own risk. Enjoy.

So you don’t want to wait for Verizon and would like to have OS 5.0 on your BlackBerry Tour 9630. Here’s the latest on Tour leakage bringing it to OS 5.0.0.571. There is no word if this is going to be the same build that Verizon hopefully unleashes soon, but in any case it will kick 4.7′s butt any day of the week. Download and install at your own risk as this is not an official build. Enjoy!

Sure you can set a password for your whole BlackBerry, but there’s always a need for this. A friend you don’t trust saying “let me play BrickBreaker on your phone” and you find out he’s snooping around elsewhere on your BlackBerry. That’s where iLock comes in handy as it lets you set password locks for any application on your BlackBerry.
Features:
- 1. Simple UI with smart and strong password protection function, you can set password for core apps and 3rd part apps
- 2. The app is running silently & slightly in background, wont occupy additional battery and memory
iLock for BlackBerry is only $3.99 to purchase from the PocketBerry Store. If you don’t want your content open to everyone, then definitely consider the application.

This is something interesting, although it just gets iPhone and Android users happy because they now have a way to communicate with BlackBerry users and can attempt to look cool like us. LuciD Messenger is available for iPhone and Android users at the moment, but is coming soon for BlackBerry. You can feel free to email them if you’d like to try out the beta, but according to the developers, it is in its final stages at the moment. I will give this app a try, but nothing tops BBM, and sorry to all the iPhone and Android users, you still can’t be us with this app!

Sorry guys, not OS 5.0 for the Tour yet, although this is quite a tease. This is the official BlackBerry Curve 8530 OS update from Verizon Wireless bringing it up to 5.0.0.508. I feel everyone’s pain on this one. Why is Verizon so focused on the Curve when the poor Tour needs an update? Well if you do own an 8530, congrats on the update.
