We have BIS 3.0 right around the corner, literally. Given that we haven’t even received 3.0 yet, we still have 3.1 and 3.2 details leaked out. So according to BBNews.pl, here are the change logs below, which seem quite exciting. BIS 3.1 is expected to roll out June 2010, which we’re not so far from and 3.2 is October 2010. Why must we be spoon fed these updates? I think all the features should get implemented at once, but that would be too easy, and would call for a lot of buggy issues.
v3.1 (June 2010)
- Two-way contact (address book) sync with Yahoo! and Windows Live Hotmail and Sync ML (ALT-N)
- Ability to share credentials on the device for an overall easier
- User able to self delete BIS account (added security)
v3.2 (October 2010)
- Calendar sync with Yahoo! and Google
- Small business management console

There was tweeted nonsense over the weekend indicating that BIS 3.0 was hitting us overnight in the US. Fail. So any way, to clear out any confusing thoughts some of you may have had about this, the official date is March 28, 2010. The official document from RIM reads:
- There will be scheduled network maintenance by Research In Motion (RIM) affecting BIS customers between 0100 CT / 0200 EDT on March 28th and 0500 CT / 0600 EDT on March 28th.
- Blackberry will be performing a BlackBerry Internet Service v2.8 upgrade to BlackBerry Internet Service v3.0
- BlackBerry Internet Service subscribers may be unable to send or receive messages using their BlackBerry hosted email account or integrated third-party email accounts, view email attachments, activate email service, or request to see “”more”” text during the maintenance.
- Wireless service providers and device resellers may be unable to create subscriber accounts or provision services for subscribers.
- The estimated duration of impact is 4 hours and affects 100% of BIS customers.
Many are concerned as to whether or not two way Gmail sync will be included in this update, but it looks like it is based on all the tips and hints floating around about it.

Just new in the PocketBerry Store, we present you Brio Memory Guard. Based on the description, they’re calling it the “most advanced memory management utility for BlackBerry.” We haven’t given it a shot yet, but will do so soon enough. Brio Memory Guard recovers unused memory to make your BlackBerry run smoother and faster. They’re also saying that they are proven to outperform MemoryBooster and BerryJoose. MemoryBooster was nice, but I hated seeing it as an open app when app switching. BerryJoose, I honestly never noticed any differences in it, then again it was used on a Bold 9700. Eitherway, Brio Memory Guard is new in town, and calls itself the best yet.
Features:
- eliminates memory leaks
- optimized for speed and efficiency
- never pull a battery or reset your BlackBerry® again
- free upgrades for life
Brio Memory Guard goes for a flat $10 at the PocketBerry Store, being cheaper than MemoryBooster, but a bit more expensive than BerryJoose.

What is the BlackBerry ‘T’ ? Well according to Kevin from CrackBerry, he confirms that the slider BlackBerry that’s getting leakage everywhere is called the Talladega. So therefore, the BlackBerry “T” can be referred to as the Talledega, maybe.
So where did this “T” come from exactly? The CEO of RIM’s parts supplier which is Woojeon & Handan had accidentally mention that a whole new BlackBerry “T” is launching officially next month. He said so in an interview over at joins.com which is a popular Korean site for news. According to the translation, the CEO says:
“The Canadian company RIM famous for BlackBerry smartphones is releasing a new model next month. Known as the “T,” The new model is an ambitious product aimed at competing against iPhone’s storm of success. Rim will present it (“T”) as its flagship model to compete in global markets such as the U.S. and Europe.”
So is this BlackBerry slider device thingy coming out next month? I’m a bit disappointed seeing the leaked images come out so late if that’s the case. RIM definitely did a great job keeping the lid closed on this one. What are your thoughts?

This time the pictures are crystal clear, giving you a better idea of what the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 looks like. What we were hoping to see is the Pearl 9100 with the QWERTY keyboard, but it’ll be a matter of time until we see that if rumors are true. So what do we make out of these new photos? For starters, we like to see that media keys have been added on the top just like the BlackBerry Curve 85xx series. The back is very much like the BlackBerry Storm2 with the metallic back cover clipping on the same way. The new trend in writing out the device’s name on the back by the camera and flash seems to pass on here as it does say “Pearl” in that cool BlackBerry font. Hit the jump for more screenshots of the BlackBerry Pearl 9100.

I don’t like it. It stinks. Is this BlackBerry or some kind of Windows Mobile here? Whatever it is, I’m not a huge fan of it based on these photos, but I guess I can’t make my full judgment until seeing the rest of the OS. Icons might not be so bad, but this screen really killed it for me. So here it is folks, the first screenshots of OS 6.0. Of course we really aren’t confirmed yet because these are the first to release yet. Hit the jump to check out another screenshot.

It’s been a while since we heard of new themes from Elecite, but it looks like the wait was well worth it. Ember just made its debut today being a very elegant theme with lots of colors. With Ember, Elecite mentions that “you’ll finally be able to ditch the application list.” So imagine being able to access all your stuff from the homescreen without all the clutter? As confusing as it sounds, it’s possible and the theme rocks.
