WES 2010: BlackBerry Pearl 3G with T9 Targeted More Towards the User Friendly or Europeans?
by Mac Jadalhack
We had some interesting opinions last night as we asked several representatives from RIM their thoughts on the T9 BlackBerry Pearl 3G. The big majority says that the device is targeted for those old school users who have adapted to this method for a long time now and have no interest in changing the way they type. Usually that ends up being Verizon customers who have been brutally stuck with LG or Motorola devices that used the T9 style keypad.
On the other hand, one RIM rep mentions that the device is excellent as a competitor in the European market where Nokia phones and other T9 devices are popular among the “user friendly.” We’re not going to jump the gun and say that the T9 is made just for Europeans, but as mentioned in the press conference yesterday, there is no word on which carriers will get which device both domestically and internationally.
