The folks over at MMMOOO have just launched the Matrix theme, which yes is very appealing.  It of course is based off the hit move “The Matrix,” (obviously) which explains all the green and coding letters.  For those in pursuit of a new theme, this is what you get with the Matrix.  You’ll get a Today Plus style on the home screen were you’ll be able to see recent emails, SMS, and calendar events as you scroll through them.  A clock is also displayed on the upper left side not creating clutter at all on your screen.  In the box where the clock is, you’ll see that indicators such as WiFi and Bluetooth are there as well keeping your top bar sleek and clean.  Matrix for BlackBerry is currently available at the PocketBerry Store for only $4.99.

A while back, we let you know about Sling Player coming officially to BlackBerry.  At that time, we were using the Bold 9000 and Curve 8900 for it.  Finally, Sling has extended its compatible devices by adding the BlackBerry Bold 9700.

Features:

  • Fully compatible with the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and other supported BlackBerry smartphones
  • Full control of your home TV and easy access to a wide range of devices and programs
  • Support for multiple viewing modes including wide-screen and zoom formats
  • High-quality video performance over 3G or WiFi networks

Just as a quick note, if you’re on the road using this, 3G is a must.  I’ve experienced endless lag when leaving a 3G network using Sling Player in the past.  The application goes for a not so cheap $29.99.  Don’t forget, you’ll need the actual Slingbox connected to your home TV for the service to work.

Why must the US be last in this? We want to see AT&T and T-Mobile get it as well.  So all the rumors and leaked images on RIM’s website of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 being in white have all been proven to be true by now.  Vodafone UK is next up in line to get the white Bold 9700.  You can pre-order yours today, or wait til April 20th for it to officially launch.

How ahead of the game are carriers? It looks like rebate forms are already getting the all new BlackBerry Bold 9650 printed right on it.  In reality, doing so isn’t quite a smart move to make, especially with RIM getting frustrated with all the leakage as is.  All we know is a launch date is imminent, but more or so in May as several rumors have floated around about it.

Tether for BlackBerry got an update earlier this morning.  For those who have been using it and experienced application issues with it (on BlackBerry), your problems may just be addressed here.  Along with all the bug fixes in this 1.1.0.3 version, automation for APNs for North American carriers has been added also.  In plain English, you’ll have an easier time connecting or “tethering” rather.  If you have Tether for BlackBerry now, feel free to log in to your account and update it free there.  If not, use the link below to check out more info on the product and purchase it.
