We wanted to see what BlackBerry content we could have on the Apple iPad, but there wasn’t more than just loading up the websites (RIM.com, BlackBerry.com, etc). So I decided to check out the iBook store and see if there were any BlackBerry books available as we’ve seen them on the Kindle and Nook. So what comes up for BlackBerry? First in line was the one book Obama’s BlackBerry. We told you all about this book almost a year ago and even had a giveaway for it right here. So if any of you didn’t pick up a hard copy of Obama’s BlackBerry, and do have an iPad, check it out today.
Obama’s BlackBerry is basically a bunch of phony conversations Obama has with other people such as George Bush, Sarah Palin, McCain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and many more people. It’s just for laughs and is not to be taken serious whatsoever. The book goes for only $9.99, as that is the price for the hardback book as well.

There’s not much to say here other than you’ll have to try this bad boy out for yourself and see how it works. Pretty much you have five predefined icons: messages, sms, calendar, phone, media, and browser. Then right underneath it, you’ll have five customizable icons of your own choice which is pretty cool. The battery and signal meters are both at the bottom as bars where the clock stands flat out in the middle. As I am not a huge fan on third party themes, I will be rockin’ this for quite a bit.

Lots of iPhone users have had apps like these for quite a while now, so it’s time for BlackBerry users to get in on the fun as well. So how does this work? Kik allows you to send messages to any phone number or Kik user absolutely free over your data plan. Pretty cool right? Here are some of the main features of Kik:
- Just start texting any mobile phone number in your phone’s address book and Kik will automatically get it through. You can forget about requesting or following your friends, or trying to figure out who is and isn’t on Kik.
- Get unlimited, free texting to all Kik users. So send your friends a free Kik message telling them to join.
- Stay connected to non-Kik users with 50 free outgoing SMS messages a month (unlimited free incoming). Additional outgoing messages are less than a cent.
- Thanks to special arrangements with US and Canadian carriers, we send your Kik-to-Non-Kik messages through real mobile phone numbers. That guarantees fast delivery of every Kik-to-Non-Kik text.
- Kik took the time to develop an awesome app for both BlackBerry and iPhone. Now you can easily and reliably text your iPhone and BlackBerry friends for free.
- Your friends who haven’t yet joined Kik can reply without paying long distance SMS charges. How so? Kik automatically assigns you a local texting phone number in each country they support (currently US and Canada).
- Have time to read a message, but not respond? Don’t worry, Kik won’t rat you out. BBM users know why you’ll love this feature.
To get the ball rolling, point your BlackBerry Brwoser to kik.com/m to download absolutely free today. If you’ve got friends with iPhones, be sure to let them know that it is also compatible with their lousy devices as well. Thanks Tim for sending this one in!
