We’re getting to see a lot of leakage from RIM themselves via UAFProf documents they have on their own website. This time it’s for the BlackBerry 9800 (click here for UAFProf doc), which I truly think will be the BlackBerry Talladega aka Slider aka “T” if you will. Sure there was a lot of talk around about the device being called the 9700a, but there’s always a possibility that theories were wrong and this was always intended to be a 9800. Perhaps they even changed it. Either way, the BlackBerry 9800 will be rockin’ OS 6.0 according to the document. As the resolution is 360 x 480, it’s hard to drift away from the BlackBerry Slider. OS 6.0 is something we have been dying to see as we did receive some leaked photos in the past, but were later proven to spoofed.

It isn’t a free update folks, which some of you may be disappointed. The update actually brings you into Druglord Wars 2, which has some new locations added along with some features. I had this update come up a few days ago, but as I payed no mind to it, I found that Matt over at BlackBerry Cool mentioned that the update was actually the sequel to the game. Some added features are a hospital where you can recover your health (it’s about time) and six new locations, along with a whole new point system. If you already have Druglord Wars, you can update to the second for only $1.99 by logging into your account. If you don’t have it, no problem! Druglord Wars 2 is on sale for only $3.99 through April 16th.

Here’s a new application we came across in the recently added apps in the PocketBerry Store. ZenMinder Lite is a free edition of the senior premium app ZenMinder allowing you to set up multiple alarms and reminders all in one place. The interface and navigation through it is very easy and sleek. With the lite version, you’ll be able to set up two additional alarms on your BlackBerry, which is great for a freebie app. Of course with the premium version of ZenMinder, you can set up more. With ZenMinder you can easily set multiple reminders for activities, tasks and other important issues and get reminded by your BlackBerry with a friendly reminder tone. The convenient repeater functionality allows to create recurring reminder that help you establish and maintain new routines and habits.
Features:
- Simple and elegant user interface for a remarkable user experience
- Set reminder at a certain date and define recurrences
- Four available Zen reminder sounds
- Possibility to play custom sound files from your BlackBerry
- Unlimited number of reminders
- Notification with vibration
- Deactivation of reminders on weekends or manually
- 12/24 hour time format
- Optional auto-delete of expired reminder
ZenMinder Lite is absolutely free to download from the PocketBerry Store. If you’re looking for further functionality and more alarm scheduling, then try the full premium version of ZenMinder.

This was quite jaw dropping. We heard about the T9 keypad Pearl coming out, but it’s one of those things you don’t believe until you see it. So RIM went ahead and took the dive into this one deep, now competing with lots of other devices and grabbing the user friendly community some more. I don’t see the device hitting big with the community who are already rockin’ Berrys at the moment. This seems more of an introduction into BlackBerry, those who are coming from T9 devices perhaps. Ronen from BerryReview just posted this in tonight and it is definitely a great way to end the week with some exciting Pearl leakage.

The folks over at BBLeaks got a nice leaked image of none other than the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 we are all (most of us) dying to see first hand already. The device is definitely something we’d like to see at WES as it’s been so much in the dark for the past few months with no confirmed launch date (other than a rumor for Fido). So here’s a tease for you all: the Pearl 9100 itself running on the TELUS network. It’s rockin’ 3G and WiFi as you all know it comes standard as well. Once again, WES is around the corner and I’m sure things will pop up about it by then.

Miscellaneous Thoughts »

A few months ago when the Apple iPad was announced, we asked all you folks how you felt about a BlackBerry tablet launching. Now it looks like the idea isn’t so far fetched. All the blogs are talking about it today, and we wanted to see what our readers felt about the idea. Many of you read about RIM placing some orders for some larger touch screens from an overseas supplier. This could call for a tablet, or as BBNews.pl put it, more of a QWERTY styled tablet (images based off of Kindle). Some time ago, we put up a poll for who was interested in the iPad even if it offered some BlackBerry apps, and not many of you were up for it. So now we want to hear what YOU the Berry users think about a BlackBerry tablet potentially hitting the market. Drop us a comment below, or shoot us a tweet on @PocketBerry

If you’re currently a Rogers customer with the official Rogers OS still loaded on, then you’ll be able to get a wireless OTA update for your OS at some point today according to CrackBerry. As other OS versions are above and beyond past .351, a lot of folks have been happier with these versions as they say battery life is a lot better with them. I didn’t have enough experience fondling with the .3xx so I’m not in any position to say how true that is. Also, these OTA updates will be available for other Rogers devices including the Bold 9000, Curve 8520, and Curve 8900. Stay tuned later today for a heads up as to when the OS update comes. If you’re currently on the Rogers network and find that the update is available wirelessly, drop us a line!

According to rumors and details floating around, RIM is in the process of putting out a 9300 series BlackBerry. It looks like it’s going to be a basic device with lower screen resolution just like the 85xx but with 3G. There’s the Curve 8530 for Verizon and Sprint that do have 3G, so one can assume that the 9300 will be for other carriers who had the 8520 which favored only WiFi and no 3G. I don’t know how cheap they can possibly offer this device where you wouldn’t just upgrade to a higher end Curve or even Bold, but we’ll have to see how it goes as more info comes our way about the 9300. You can view the full UAProf document here to check out the full coded details of the device.
