Of course with the launch of Google Buzz, Maps had to get updated eventually. So in v4.0.1, Google Maps now includes a Buzz layer. Pretty much you’ll have the ability to turn the layer on or off, but I still don’t know how many of you are actually using the service. Aside from that, you’ll be able to search by voice which some of you anti-typing fanatics may find handy. We haven’t seen much of anything else on this build yet, but certainly drop us a line if you see anything else. Enjoy.

How impressive is this? TrueSupplier of course has some exclusive parts for sale already as they always do. This time it’s for the BlackBerry Bold 9650. It looks like the device is going to be branded “Bold” on the back just as other new devices get marked. From the way it looks in the image, it won’t be embroided in as it is for the 9700. Instead it is just written on the back plastic plate by the camera and flash. To me it still looks like a Tour, but you can appreciate RIM’s efforts in transforming to a Bold last minute. Will we be seeing a leather back? I sure hope so, or else the Bold family will just be destroyed. Check out the housing over at TrueSupplier.

This is quite funny. What a general advertisement to put up at a time like this. Possibilities are just endless at this point. While Verizon is expected to have some HTC device come out along with a possibility of an iPad, and on top of it all the BlackBerry Bold 9650, it’s just not right to put an ad up like this. You can’t get any more teasing or general. So there are no hints on this poster about anything. Boo. Kick back and relax and let’s see Verizon launch something already.

LinkedIn for BlackBerry just officially launched last week, and we already have an update out which released late last night. According to the notes on the update, this new version fixes the connection issues users were encountering. Some of which said “Unable to Connect” or “Invalid email or password.” Now in this latest 1.0.1 build, those issues have been addressed and fixed.

It looks like PrivacyStar has gone through an update today as we just got a press release in stating so. The new version promises huge speed increases, call look up accuracy, and blocking features for calls have been expanded as well. So when it comes to call blocking features, what’s new? You can now block entire area codes and groups of numbers used by bill collectors, telemarketers which include 800, 866, and 888. “We expect that with improved performance and expanded call blocking options, PrivacyStar will continue to resonate positively with BlackBerry users,” said Jeff Stalnaker, CEO of First Orion. “We’ve had 100,000 users look up almost a million numbers and file over 20,000 complaints with the appropriate authorities, and this update will help our users take further control of their phones.” Hit the jump for the full press release.

Not all of you are fond of this new Apple device, but you need to remember that the iPad is not taking over the BlackBerry nor is it a threat to the smartphone in any way, shape or form. I’m going to go ahead and say iPad. is awesome when it comes to gaming. Zombie Attack is one of my favorite games ever on the BlackBerry platform. If we go back in time, IUGO designed Zombie Attack for the iPhone/iTouch, then later released it for BlackBerry making it look pretty much identical. Today we see that Zombie Attack has been extended to the all new iPad. The screen shot above comes from what it look like on the iPad, and without doubt looks better than it does on the BlackBerry. It isn’t a fair comparison of course with the iPad’s 9 point some inch screen and BlackBerry’s smaller one (not to mention its 3D accelerator, etc). If any of you folks are rockin’ out with an iPad, make sure you buy this game, it’s about 4 bucks (cheaper than BlackBerry), and has 2 player option as well.
