It looks like airG Chat has made its way to the BlackBerry platform finally.  For those who don’t know airG is one of the largest mobile social networking communities out there.  As it isn’t just for BlackBerry (given that it just launched t0day), you’ll be able to interact with many other users online.  Chat, send private messages, customize your profile, update your status, share photos and videos, send gifts, view your friend’s updates, post comments and more. You can even connect with friends on live chat.

It’s been really quiet lately with breaking BlackBerry news, especially after the Talladega leaked images. Sure we have the Bold 9650 coming but our excitement quickly ran out for it, especially knowing that it is cosmetically a Tour with a trackpad. So WES is right around the corner and everyone is getting really excited to see what RIM has planned to reveal.  Will it be Verizon’s Bold 9650, Pearl 9100, Talladega, OS 6.0? Perhaps some new concepts?

For all those attending WES or just want to get the inside scoop on what will be going on there, RIM has released a WES 2010 mobile application absolutely free.  Bla1ze from CrackBerry found that it was available earlier today, so we had to share it with all our readers, especially those attending the event. The screenshot above shows the homescreen with all the menus.  You’ll be able to check out sessions, speakers, your schedule, news/blog, getting around tips, sponsors, feedback, and the about us page.  Head over to the BlackBerry App World today to grab your copies.  Also, don’t forget that April 25th is the last day to register for WES, so if you haven’t done so yet, and plan to, get on it as soon as possible!

The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 has been circling around the web for quite some time now.  Many assumed it would be launched by now, but it doesn’t look like there isn’t much about a launch date just yet.  This leaked image comes from BBOS, showing a testing screen for the BlackBerry Stratus, aka Pearl 9100.  We don’t know how old this screenshot is, but if it is recent, then I honestly don’t see the device launching any time soon.  My prediction at first was that RIM will announce both the Bold 9650 (formerly Tour 9650), and the Pearl 9100, where now I feel that the 9650 may stand alone if these screenshots are very current.

Just another theme I came across while browsing around, here’s Adriana Lima herself – on your BlackBerry Curve 8900.  The theme is absolutely free to download and install.  Special thanks to Jennifer from Cool BlackBerry Themes for providing this theme.

Fancy Characters went through quite an update the other day bringing it to version 2.3, but now it looks like they’ve went at it again, bringing you version 2.4.  Here’s the full change log:

  • Fixed Storm Virtual keyboard support
  • Fixed crash on 9700 and Tour (OS 5.0)
  • About 50 additional Unicode symbols
  • More math symbols
  • Configurable buttons background color
  • Blackberry Backup Support (no need to reenter code on OS upgrade)

Fancy Characters v2.4 is only $1.49 to purchase and download from the PocketBerry Store.  If you’re looking for a way to have all your exclusive BBM smileys accessible, then this is best for you.

If you signed up for the BlackBerry Beta Zone, then many of you did get the latest BBM 5.0.1.5 update earlier this morning.  It could be just me, but I noticed a bit of a lag browsing through my BBM buddy list and seeing that avatars and text was a bit enlarged.  Luckily there was an option to make it “old school” single line again which I am very happy to see. Have any of you seen a difference in this version? Drop us a line.

Hit the jump to check out what we found new in the latest BlackBerry Messenger v5.0.1.5

The makers of PleasureBerry have gone at it again.  A few weeks ago they released a free edition of PleasureBerry, but now it looks like a Turbo edition has been launched.  So what’s different here?  The menu got a facelift which doesn’t seem to be a big deal for many, but the biggest update is the 15 modes of vibration added on to it rather than the free edition which has limited modes.

BlackBerry Pearl 8230? Why oh why? I thought RIM was going to kill this device.  Apparently, it is being extended to Sprint.  As for the good news, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is also showing up on Sprint’s order forms so that’s very much a big plus.  A few days ago, we showed you forms showing that the Bold 9650 will be available in May, and now we have this showing up.  Dates are coming closer, WES is around the corner, therefore announcements will be made.  But wait, we have two different devices showing up – a camera and non-camera version!  To all the business users out there, you’ll be able to get a non-camera version of the latest BlackBerry device so you won’t have to look foolish with an 87xx or 88xx.

How exciting? Seesmic’s big competitor TweetDeck is coming to BlackBerry also.  Sure Seesmic took the spotlight on being for both computers and mobiles, but TweetDeck is coming to try taking the lead.  Seesmic didn’t quickly take over all BlackBerry users when it came to Twitter clients, so perhaps TweetDeck is trying to learn from it in order to become a dominant mobile Twitter client.  They tweeted about this project earlier today, and I strongly believe that many TweetDeck customers who currently have BlackBerry will make this transition once it is available.  Other than that, stay tuned for an update on their desktop computer client as that will be going through some changes as well.
