Here’s the third leak we’ve received on this clamshell device in the past month. I don’t recall any other device of the past getting this much leakage in such a short period of time. I’m guessing this “prototype” will be coming to life and is being tested all over. This one’s coming from The Cellular Guru, as there are no other images but this one above showing a very sexy OS 6.0 in a very not so sexy body.

This is the second leaked OS we’re receiving since the official announcement of the BlackBerry Pearl 3G at WES 2010. Many folks like myself can’t wait for this device to officially launch, and seeing all these OS leaks is such a huge tease. So here’s OS 5.0.0.676 for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G both 9100 (SureType) and 9105 (T9). Download and install it if you’re one of the lucky folks using it at the moment. There are several download mirrors so I’m sure you’ll find them active for awhile. Enjoy it!

Dropbox is one of my favorite apps to use on my iPad right now. It’s quite simple. Pretty much you’ll have a folder on your computer where you can drag and drop files into it. Then when accessing Dropbox on your iPad, you can see all those files remotely at anytime (with an active Internet connection of course). We just got the word from Ronen at BerryReview that the application will be extending to BlackBerry as it already supports both the iPhone, iPad, and Android at the moment. There is no confirmed launch date yet, but they do say it is coming soon. Dropbox has a free plan where you are limited to only 2GB. Anything after that varies in a monthly cost.

This app reminds of Hot or Not, as you can post something, and receive a 50/50 answer. This one’s a bit different though. KeepOrTell lets you post and read secrets that users post anonymously. When reading someone’s post, you can either click “keep” or “tell,” allowing the user who posted to make a better decision based on the majority vote. You can also post your own dilemmas and have your decisions made for you as well. This is a free app over at the PocketBerry Store so use the link below to download your own copy today.

I was never one to carry around all those Best Buy Reward Zone cards and Shop Rite Price Plus key chains. Some others do though not to mention any names. A new and actual useful application is in town that saves all those cards for you in a single BlackBerry Application. Oh yeah, it’s free too. Use CardStar to keep all your memberships and reward cards for endless merchants including CVS, Best Buy, Petco, and many more. Instead of having to dig in your wallet for them or go through a ring of key chain cards, whip out your Berry and display the appropriate barcode for the store you’re in.

This app is really straight forward with no ins and outs to it at all. It backs up your BlackBerry data right onto your micro SD card. This way you don’t have to worry about your data being saved on a public server with others. There’s nothing more secure than just having your own backup and doing what you want with it. Here’s the full change log in this version:
- Feature add: backup & restore of categories.
- Feature add: backup & restore of phone call log.
- Feature add: wipe data before restore (optional).
- Feature add: use current ISO date as default file name (can be adjusted in options).
- Feature add: report for items that could not be backed up.
- Feature add: periodic backups added (daily, weekly, monthly).
- Feature add: background color customizable.
- Change:: general user interface improvements.
- Change:: splash screen added.
- Change:: better error handling.
- Bug Fix:: email backup did crash.
- Bug Fix:: task backup/restore; priority was wrong.
- Bug Fix:: minor bug fixes.
This app is absolutely free to download and is currently in beta, so don’t go bananas in the event that it gets a bit buggy for you. To get it free, just use the link below to sign up for the free beta.

Themes »

Just before WES, we let you know about the I Dream of 6 theme inspired by the leaked screenshots of OS 6.0. Now that we had a bigger tease at WES with BlackBerry 6, the theme makers have updated it to look more like what we saw. So here’s version 1.5 of I Dream of 6.
Features:
- All dock icons are fully customizable
- Wallpaper-friendly
- Custom icons
- Free upgrade when new icons and features are added
- Animated menus
If you already purchased the theme, log in to your account today and update it absolutely free. Otherwise, use the link below to purchase today. And another disclaimer off to the side, the screenshot above is from my personal Bold 9700. As I mentioned yesterday, I did turn 3G off “just because.” Don’t hate.
