So the questioning, rumors, gossip, and all that other nonsense is over.  When it comes to the fuchsia red colored BlackBerry Curve 8520 that is.  Folks were questioning this device days ago, when we all knew it was coming about a month ago already.  It was no surprise for us, and it shouldn’t have been for any of you either.  So the fuchsia red BlackBerry Curve 8520 is here, for only $49.99 with a strings attached contract online and in all T-Mobile retail stores.  Next in line is the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 expected to come May 26th according to the T-Mobile streamline.

This is something that didn’t come across our attention at all.  Ehab emailed me late last night letting me know about this BlackBerry Pearl 3G BlockParty in Australia sponsored by Telstra.  Basically, RIM is currently looking for a host to MC the whole event at the moment who will have the opportunity to party with the “A-listers” which seems to be a popular band down there.  Also the host and their four friends will be able to interview this secret music star backstage and of course RIM will be throwing in some freebie BlackBerry smartphones for you and your friend and AU$5000.  Sound good? Click the link below to sign up as a host candidate for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G BlockParty.

At WES this year, we had the opportunity to stop in at Case-Mate’s booth and see what they were doing lately as far as BlackBerry accessories go.  Last thing we had heard was the Go Bare which was supposed to be the ZAGG Invisible Shield big competitor.  As the it went into private testing, and we were fortunate enough to test it out, Case-Mate has withdrew the item from launching and has decided to do further research in development in making it better.  An interesting concept we did see at Case-Mate however is there I Make My Case cases.  We were reminded by it this morning as we saw RIM is pushing it out on their BlackBerry newsletter.  These are completely customizable by your own taste as you design it yourself online based on several artists’ work.  The cases aren’t cheap, and I don’t think any of you expected them to be as they are full customizable by your own design.  They’re all 40 bucks a pop, so design wisely.

So T-Mobile didn’t let us all down after all.  As promised they have released a new OS, as it came a few hours later than we expected, but at least they didn’t pull an AT&T on us.  Here are the main new features in OS 5.0.0.586 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700:

  • Increase general stability for the software
  • New separate icon for BES e-mail
  • Improvements to chat view SMS user interface

  • General Visual Voicemail improvements
  • Resolve 3G dropped call issue
  • Mobile Backup support
  • Improvements to TrackPad performance

Next in line for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G seems to be Virgin Mobile.  We’re very shocked by the news, as we still haven’t had any word from AT&T yet, and aren’t expecting anything from T-Mobile as we got the word that they have rejected it.  Virgin Mobile will be putting out the device “soon” which doesn’t do much for us, but at least we have the pricing plans.  On a three year strings attached plan, it will be $49.99 while a 30-day contract will ring it up to $349.99.  There’s nothing on their website about it yet, but we did get the information from BGR which came from a source on the inside.  You can view some of the screenshots there, as it clearly shows that the 9100 SureType (condensed QWERTY) is the lucky chosen one for the carrier.

Ehab just let me know about this pretty cool application out and figured we had to share it with you folks.  As not everyone is equipped with a BlackBerry just yet and would like to get in on the action without making the switch, a third party application must come in play.  Cnectd seems to be a new application that basically replicates BBM and how it works.  One thing I noticed was the “D” for delivered and “R” for read next to all the messages.  I guess RIM’s patent on BBM isn’t that enforced.  Cnectd is currently in beta right now, and available absolutely free.  So who’s supported here? Androids, iPhones, BlackBerrys, and all Symbian devices are welcome.  If you have any of those 3 devices,

QuickPull has been hiding for quite a bit, but still exists in most BlackBerry smartphones today, although compatibility has been an issue for a while now.  Just in today, version 4 is officially released supporting OS 5.0 and up.  So next time you decide to do a battery pull, don’t bother.  Download this freebie and have QuickPull virtually do a battery pull for you at your service.

Yesterday, we showed you Tawkon the radiation monitoring system application for BlackBerry.  We did get a few emails asking some questions about the application and can imagine the Tawkon team was getting quite a few of those as well.  So we were just sent in this YouTube video from Tawkon showing a full demonstration of the application, how it works, and of course all its benefits.  Use the link below to read up more information on Tawkon.

Palringo is a long forgotten multiple instant messaging application that has been out for quite some time.  We saw over at BerryReview that it’s now compatible with OS 5.0.  For me, I’ve ended up finding alternative IM clients, but for those who don’t have any now are looking for a free fixation for all your instant messaging apps, then Palringo will suit you well.

Elecite has just launched a new theme today called Gizmo.  Once again, they have created a theme differentiating itself from any other you’ve seen before.  As you can see, all icons are stacked on top of each other both left and right and is FULLY customizable.  Many users including myself just hate having a set of locked icons.  We should be able to set up what we want and how we want it.  Gizmo gives you that freedom.  Another plus is it being wallpaper-friendly.  Some of Elecite’s other themes are not, but Gizmo specifically is.  Grab your copy of Gizmo today for only $6.99.  Use the link below to check out Gizmo and other Elecite themes.
