As this is my #1 favorite game for BlackBerry, I like to put it out here when it goes down on sale as I encourage you all to grab a copy! For those unaware, Druglord Wars 2 is based on the classic games Dope Wars or Drug Wars. There’s many variations out there but this is by far the best one out there. They recently updated it to the sequel as it added all sorts of new features including new locations and ability to revive your health. Grab your copy today for only $2.99 until May 19th.

There’s been so much confusion with the white T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9700. First we had a May 5th launch, then it turned into coming soon, and now it has become May 26th. Our buddies over at T-Mobile sent us this screenshot from their streamline as of 9AM EST this morning. So for all those waiting for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white for T-Mobile, May 26th is the set date now, as that’s what the employee streamline says. Still none in stock, but it’s still too early as the Fuchsia Curve 8520 came in only a few days before the launch date. Stay tuned for more folks. On a side note, I find it funny that the target audience for the device is age 28-48.

Rumors »

Who would mind this? Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like RIM is up to renovating their product line this far. Or not. According to the folks over at Elecite, they have played around with the Storm 3 and have mocked up these images based on their user experiences. It’s still very hard for me to take this in, so let’s keep this a very basic rumor level for the time being. In my opinion, if folks are playing with prototypes of the Storm 3 now, I would assume some sort of leaked screenshots would be out and about by now, don’t you think? I’m not going to point fingers or call anything false, but we’re going to go ahead with this as a rumor and take everything that the Elecite folks have to say about it in consideration. As a BlackBerry Storm 3, this is pretty darn sexy though. As more of the attention lately has been focused on the all new BlackBerry Bold 9800, we’ve sort of lost touch on the Storm 3.

Mac had posted this at an earlier time during WES as we just heard it, but then went back and put the post on hold until we received further details on the matter. We obviously didn’t get much, but we’re a bit more educated now as to what is going on here.I spoke with one of my T-Mobile corporate friends and inquired about this BlackBerry Pearl 3G. As Mac heard from T-Mobile during WES that the device was not coming to the carrier at all, I had to see if there was any more raw details on that. From what I understood, T-Mobile does not seem to have an interest in carrying the device now at all as they have other plans in line. That brings us back to what we did put out as a rumor around WES about a Curve 8500 series coming in 3G. We know it’s not the 8910. Could it be the 9300? Mac heard and posted this same rumor, but there was no indication as to what the model number would be. What was understood is that the “Curve 8520 will be coming in 3G.” So what is to come of the Pearl 3G now? Things are looking dark for T-Mobile at the moment, but a lot brighter for AT&T now. Things don’t look so great for a May launch of the Pearl in the US as of now, so we wait.

Finally a US carrier makes a move on OS updates for the BlackBerry Bold 9700. It’s definitely not AT&T, nor has it ever been. Eric from ock let us know that the BlackBerry Bold 9700 is due for update tomorrow officially by T-Mobile. They put it up in their forums a few days ago apparently and no one has noticed til now.
OS Update Features:
- Increase general stability for the software
- New separate icon for BES e-mail
- Improvements to chat view SMS user interface
- Improved BlackBerry Messenger client
- General Visual Voicemail improvements
- Resolve 3G dropped call issue
- Mobile Backup support
- Improvements to TrackPad performance
To check out the full forum posting click here. The post does say May 18th, and that is tomorrow obviously. We hope there are no delays as the update looks pretty exciting. I see some legitimate changes to the OS and am very excited to see what is to come of the BlackBerry Messenger, SMS user interface, and trackpad performance.

Themes »

A lot of themes make your homescreen look cool but Hedone Design’s latest creation called Ambos really justifies it. It comes with five predefined icons up top with six more that are user defined. There’s also a hidden animated menu that comes up along with really awesome graphics. The theme is currently $5.99 over at the PocketBerry Store so feel free to grab your copy today.

BlackBerry Celebrities »

As we discussed this a few months ago, the BlackBerry Bold 9700 became one of the most popular handheld devices among celebrities. Sure many other users in different industries (or none at all) are holding the 9700, but celebs do love it and that’s not exaggerating! So we cam across this image of Stephanie Pratt over at Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings where she’s seen hold a BlackBerry Curve 8530 in purple. We all know everything about the Curve 8500 series and are well aware that it is a basic device. Not to be hating on anyone carrying it, but this is the first time I’ve seen a celebrity rock a basic Berry. Perhaps she’s not taking pictures at night which calls for no need of a camera flash and loves the color purple. Someone should let her know about Colorware.

We’re a bit late in mentioning, but these leaks came out earlier yesterday for the BlackBerry Bold 9000, Curve 8900, and Curve 8520 all back to back. So for those still unaware, here are the links to download below. Keep in mind these are leaks so download and install at your own risk.

General News »

We got the word from Ronen from BerryReview that BIS 3.1 documentation is officially available from RIM now. You can view the full release here at their site. In addition, the documentation has been updated and added two more knowledge based entries. One new feature that many have been waiting for (although Gmail does it for me) is the Windows Live Hotmail contact sync. For some reason it will be requiring OS 6.0 while Yahoo! Mail will be requiring OS 5.0 just like Gmail’s contact sync. According to Ronen and what the documents are saying, categories and contact group lists will not by synchronized, just the bare contacts.
