Rogers BlackBerry Pearl 3G Officially Available – $49.99 with 3 Year Contract
by Mac Jadalhack
So the BlackBerry Pearl 3G has set off officially for Rogers now, and any Canadian residents can go ahead and grab one at their local Rogers store or online. I’ll admit I am quite jealous, and very disappointed in carriers here in the United States on their motivation of putting the Pearl 3G out to us. Back to the big news, you can grab your very own Pearl 3G for only $49.99 with a 3 year strings attached contract, or $424.99 with no commitment at all. Kyle from BlackBerry Cool brings up a good point in that there are no themes for this device yet, as the theme builder has not been updated to support the device up until today. We’re seeing a lot of what we saw when the Bold 9000 released and nothing was available for it — even applications weren’t formatted for it yet. This brings me back to a friendly arguement I had with Eric from OCK in regard to the BlackBerry Bold 9800 (slider). It is rumored to come out this month, but Eric’s argument was that there are no developer tools out yet for OS 6.0, which is totally accurate. Perhaps the device will leap into stores and RIM will just worry about apps and themes later on?
