As the T-Mobile BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white just released, I decided to try it out and see how I liked it.  Of course it’s the same as the regular Bold 9700 in black, but having another color takes some getting used to, and there’s always small bits and pieces that change.  Cass Chin took some nice photos of device, and while going through them, he brought something to my attention.  The leather on the battery door picks up a lot of dirt, and it’s not so easy to clean.  You’ll see a lot of it in the images if you look close enough.  It starts all around the edges and then will slowly makes its way in until it’s all pretty much off white.  There’s something we take for granted when having a black Bold 9700 where the only dirt or smudges we seem to notice is on the screen or on the chrome bezel.  We’re not going to go through a full review here, as we’ve been well acquainted with the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and this is just a cosmetic change in color.  Although I will mention that 5.0.0.586 by T-Mobile is a solid to go with and is a lot better than AT&T’s 5.0.0.405 (obviously).  Movement between different applications and menu seem to be a lot more responsive.  It wouldn’t be a bad idea for any of you to update to it.  Hit the jump to continue reading and to check out more images.

Some may disagree with me on this one, but the keys on the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 appear to be a lot softer to press than on the native black Bold 9700.  I personally used the black T-Mobile and AT&T Bold 9700 and this white one just seems to have a softer touch to it.  The keys aren’t as loud either when typing.  As for the trackpad, it seems to be a lot more stable here and doesn’t dance around when scrolling back and forth on it.  I was disappointed to see the set of headphones it came with.  The AT&T BlackBerry Bold 9700 comes with better ones with the multiple ear pieces to fit your ear.  In my opinion they look and sound better.  The ones with the white Bold 9700 did come in white which i was happy to see, but they’re the “cheapo” headphones as the Curve 8300 series came with them also.

Some assumed that the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 would come with the standard leather belt clip, but even before its release, I knew it either wouldn’t come with one at all, or perhaps turned it into white.  RIM went an alternative route and packed in a leather “sock” for it as I like to call it while many of you will just refer to it as the white leather case.  It comes in white, and looks really good when putting the phone inside it.  it covers the full back of the BlackBerry so you don’t have to worry about scratches.  Then in the front, it’s a bit lower allowing you to see the top of the phone from right above the screen until the lock and mute keys.  That way any time you have a new message you’ll be able to see the indicator light blink.

All around the side of the BlackBerry where the buttons (darker part) are, you’ll see that its color has been changed also.  It appears to be a darker gray color, while the regular Bold 9700 gets it in complete black.  Here’s the rest of the image gallery showing you the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 in all its angles including the headphones and white leather case
