I don’t know about you but it gets really annoying having to hear the same ringers every time you wake up to an alarm or any other set reminder.  Random Music Reminder is a new application I came across that solved that problem for me.  Look at it as a alarm clock jukebox. It’ll keep on playing random songs until you stop it. Yes of course snoozing is an option for all you lazy procrastinators as well.

Features:

  • Multiple alarm times configurable
  • Alarms only on working day/ weekend configurable or each day
  • Multiple clock themes
  • Music pool for alert configurable (e.g. genre)
  • Snoozefunction
  • Volume configurable during alert

Random Music Reminder is on sale at the PocketBerry Store for only $2.99 through June 26th where it’ll then get bumped back up to $4.99. Hit the link below to check out more info on the app.

Over the weekend we saw the BlackBerry Bold 9650 get OS 5.0.0.732, which came directly after the devices launch both OTA and desktop download.  Bla1ze from CrackBerry spotted that Verizon is looking to release the same update for the Tour 9630 as well as it says so in an official document.  There’s no telling when this is coming out, but keep your eyes open as we expect it to happen sometime soon.

We all saw the BlackBerry 8910 images leak out back in January for the first time.  Who remembers seeing  seeing the 8910 at CES?  Apparently Case-Mate had put it out on display by accident for those who don’t remember.  Even leaked OS versions for the 8910 have surfaced before in the past.  Our friends over at BBNews.pl spotted that RIM has released the BlackBerry 8910 simulator, and as you all know the device hasn’t even been officially announced yet.  The simulator works in a 8900 housing with the trackball and everything not making it so exciting.  But of course the software and OS is very well for the 8910.  Head over to the BlackBerry Developers Blog to download and check out other resources they released yesterday.

It’s the first official day of games today, and I’m sure many of you are looking (if not already) for that BlackBerry application to follow the games.  I’m hoping this one’s better than the other World Cup applications available right now.  The South Africa for BlackBerry that RIM is chanting about with its push notifications consistently kept freezing on me, and other users have reported the same.  So on the brighter side, Polar Mobile has just launched a WC2010 app to follow this year’s World Cup.  Hopefully this one runs smoother and better than the others, but you can all free to give it a shot by downloading it at the BlackBerry App World.

It’s still not in our hands yet, but we really want to try this souped up 8500 series device going by the name of Kepler 9300, which will soon be titled as a Curve obviously.  The folks over at BBLeaks got the latest OS leak ranking at 5.0.0.758.  Where’s OS 6? That calls for a whole separate argument but if you’re one of the fortunate ones to be rockin’ a BlackBerry Kepler (Curve) 9300, then here’s an OS update for you.

Mobihand announced Wednesday their intentions to partner with Blippy, a social-commerce site, to help BlackBerry users keep up with apps friends download and use. Blippy already has relationships with sites like Amazon, iTunes, and Netflix, making Mobihand only the most recent subscriber to an increasingly popular service. Blippy collects and publishes data about purchased apps and media over Twitter and Facebook, meaning people eager to tell their friends about new apps now have a more effective way of doing so. For those who do not wish to share their own purchasing/borrowing information but still watch what friends buy, or only show their purchases to certain friends, Blippy’s site can be adjusted to meet those requests.

Upon opening BlackBerry App World this morning to download Poynt on my fairly new white BlackBerry Bold 9700, I realized that there was an update for App World.  Unfortunately there was no change log, so we assume it’s to be minor bug fixes.  Could there be fixes for the Pearl 9100 having themes showing up? Doubt it, unless RIM wanted to be discreet on it, and we don’t have a Pearl on hand to try that out.  So for the record, it’s just bug fixes.  Update via App World by searching for “BlackBerry App World” and selecting the “update” option or click the link below to download it via browser.
