Now this would of been handy for me last weekend as I went to Atlantic City to get my gamble on.  The Pocket Casino Guide for BlackBerry searches for casinos, card rooms, and race tracks in your current location.  Just as a warning, this could become very dangerous if you have no control over gambling.  Here are the full features of the application:

  • Seach for casinos, card rooms and race tracks in your current location.
  • Search for the same in other areas by Country (USA & Canada), State/Province, City and by Zip/PostalCode.
  • Refine your search by filtering for…
  • —- Table Games: Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, Carribean Poker, etc.
  • —- Poker: Holdem (limit and NL), Omaha/8, Pot Limit Omaha, etc.
  • —- Tournaments: Holdem, Slot, Video Poker, etc.
  • —- Casino Games: Slots, Keno, Bingo, etc
  • —- Race & Sports Books
  • —- Amenities: Hotel, Spa, Dining, Night clubs, etc.
  • —- Racing: Thoroughbred, Greyhound, etc.
  • Use Google maps or BlackBerry maps to view casino locations and to get directions.
  • View casino web sites.
  • Read comments by visitors to the casino and add your own comments.

As mentioned before, Pocket Casino Guide for BlackBerry is free to download.  It’s available at the PocketBerry Store so use the link below to download it free today.

Just in at the PocketBerry Store is a pretty cool app some of you might find convenient.  As you all know carriers such as AT&T have put out their PTT (Push to Talk) applications charging between $5-10 as a monthly fee.  At the moment, Verizon offers PTT to their customers as well.  So what better way is there to get all your BlackBerry friends to “PTT” together regardless of the carrier? Push2Talk is the solution.

Features:

  • BlackBerry to BlackBerry voice communication.
  • Very fast performance, only a few seconds delay per message.
  • Each message up to 10 seconds in duration.
  • No monthly billing or hidden fees, you only pay once.

Push2Talk for BlackBerry is only $4.99 at the PocketBerry Store to purchase.  Click the link below to purchase or to read up more information about it.

Last night, we got the word from First Orion that they were releasing a pretty cool update for their PrivacyStar application today.  We got to look in and see what was offered and personally we feel that these new features do help PrivacyStar as an application if they work properly.  Some new features include SmartBlock where crowdsourced data from PrivacyStar will enable the feature to have top offenders automatically blocked, etc.  Below is the full feature list of PrivacyStar:

  • Simple to Use – After receiving an unwanted call, select the number from the call log to add to the Privacy List and that call will be blocked in the future
  • Caller Lookup – PrivacyStar Caller Lookup allows a user to identify unknown callers by name and take appropriate action, such as adding to the contacts list or Privacy List
  • SmartBlock – Employs crowdsourced data from PrivacyStar users to automatically block the top offenders – kept current according to user activity
  • Do Not Disturb – Forwards all incoming calls to voicemail and sends a text message acknowledging the call
  • Report Potential Telemarketing Violations – Upon the user’s request, PrivacyStar captures detailed information about possible violations including date, time, number and identity. PrivacyStar allows users to easily provide this information to law enforcement authorities so they may take action
  • Web Portal – Utilize the fully integrated personal web portal to manage blocked callers (including unblocking), provide additional details on violations and manage the PrivacyStar account

Elecite released their latest theme called Vortex late yesterday.  As these theme builders never fail to amuse me with the cool effects and attributes they add in their themes, I was personally amazed by Vortex.  The layout, icons, “swipey-ness” and overall performance of the application were all pluses.  Head over to Elecite today to check it out.

We’re not going into so much depth here, but I just saw the quick clip for the all new iPhone 4 and realized that some of these features being rolled out as “revolutionary” have already been in existence with BlackBerry.  Sure there are lots of cool features to the iPhone 4, and it does look appetizing to many of us.  But don’t let fancy marketing and good actors fool you.  What ends up happening is that we become introduced to these “new and fresh” features, and because they make it look so cool, we almost forget that those “new and fresh” features have existed in other devices for quite some time.  We didn’t go so in depth here, and just covered up what we generally saw in Apple’s iPhone 4 teaser trailer which launched officially today.  Hit the jump to see the full scoop on what we saw Apple has implemented in the iPhone 4 which has existed in BlackBerry for years.

As you all know, OtterBox is our favorite case maker for BlackBerry smartphones, and we never hesitate to push out their product line here.  For those unaware, the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is very similar to the Tour 9630, although the charger port is slightly lower than it was before.  That results in some Tour cases not working on this new Bold.  So OtterBox has released the big three for the Bold 9650: Impact, Commuter, and Defender.  They are all in stock and available to purchase today.  Any one who’s new to OtterBox, these are the prices: Impact – $19.95, Commuter – $34.95, and Defender $49.95.  My personal favorite is the Commuter series as it falls right in the middle and makes your BlackBerry really comfortable to use while providing lots of protection.

This isn’t huge news, and we have already seen the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 get launched by both T-Mobile (in the US) and Rogers (in Canada).  Last week when we put out the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 up close and personal photos, a commenter did write that the BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white will be arriving to T-Mobile Germany on July 19th as it is not available at the moment.  We’re still waiting in to see if we can get an actual image from the streamline for actual proof, so we’re keeping this classified as a rumor for the time being.

We got the word from Bla1ze that LinkedIn for BlackBerry has been updated.  It looks like now the app supports the BlackBerry Storm and Pearl platform which is really important.  With the Pearl 3G launched in some parts of the world, not many applications seem to be ready for it just yet.  It’s good to know that LinkedIn is keeping up with that adding the support.  Here’s the full change log below:

  • Localized for members in Italy and Brazil
  • More detail is provided of what your connections have changed on their profile. You can now see what sections have been changed (Education, Headline, Experience, etc.), as well as when your connections adding things like an Instant Messenger account, Twitter account, or adding their birthday to their profile.
  • Bug fixes like improvements to BlackBerry font usage and the BlackBerry Contacts application is updated if you’ve enabled address book integration with LinkedIn.

As you already know, LinkedIn is a free application to download.  Use the link below to download over the air today.

It looks like TD Bank has been added to the BlackBerry App World with their refreshed application.  Mobile banking is a really popular activity these days, and sometimes mobile sites don’t cut it.  In my opinion, applications make it all a lot easier.  We had the PayPal application launch a few months ago which is hands down one of the best mobile “banking” apps I’ve seen.  TD Bank has now followed the lead by releasing their own version allowing you to do all basic banking actions.  Here are all the main features/sections of the TD Bank app.

  • TD Canada Trust: The banking option will allow you to access your chequing, savings, credit and investment account information, pay bills and transfer money anytime, anywhere.
  • TD Waterhouse: If you want to get a quote, place a trade, or ask a question, one-touch calling on the investment option, makes it easier to contact the TD Waterhouse Investor Service Centre.
  • TD Insurance: In the Auto Insurance option, the Accident Toolkit and Notepad provide assistance when you need it most. These features put help at your fingertips if you are in an accident.

The TD Bank application for BlackBerry is absolutely free to download from the BlackBerry App World.  Hit the link below to download.
