We just got the word that Bluff My Call for BlackBerry has updated earlier this morning. As the functionality of prank calling folks still remains, the UI has just been redesigned. It’s a lot easier to use now and I saw that switching countries to call is so much easier to do now. Selecting contacts from your address book was always a pain but is now simplified. For those unaware, Bluff My Call is a spoof application that lets you change up how your phone number looks, and call with disguised voices (that’s a premium service). The freebie part lets you disguise your number and make a free two minute phone call. Here are the rates for the premium services:
Prepaid Packages:
- $10.00 = 60 Credits
- $25.00 = 165 Credits
- $50.00 = 375 Credits
- $100.00 = 775 Credits
The there’s unlimited plans you can get which is $29.95 for a 1 month, $79.95 for 3 months, and $299 for a 1 full year. Give the app a test run and maybe the freebie two minute pranker is all you need any way. Hit the link below to download over the air.

The folks over at BBLeaks got some interesting information on a codename Onyx Delta with a number of 9700a. Now for those who don’t remember, the 9700a model number was spotted a few times within BlackBerry App World sales and many assumed it would be the slider device which is formerly known as the BlackBerry Bold 9800. As LouiV mentions, this is the first time RIM uses a codename twice as the original Bold 9700 was titled the Onyx for awhile.
So far, here are the specs rumored for the Onyx Delta 9700a:
- 5MP camera
- 512 MB RAM
- OS 6.0 (BlackBerry 6)
- New webkit browser
As some folks at WES 2010 said that BlackBerry 6 would be compatible with the Bold 9700, we’re a bit shaky about it as it sports only 256MB of RAM. Then again the Pearl 9100 has just rolled out with the same memory and is getting BlackBerry 6 also, but perhaps we’ll see a “lighter” or “optimized” version on it. So as of now, these are rumors and we don’t know what can or can’t be true at this point, but we thought to share the tip with you folks as well.

Yesterday we gave you the heads up that the Verizon BlackBerry Bold 9650 would officially be available today, and we’re just giving you all the friendly reminder that it is here now officially. As we generically say “the wait is over” you can log online to the official Verizon website today and grab your own Bold 9650. If you’re looking to get one in retail stores, you’ll have to wait until June 10th. But again, Sprint didn’t roll out theirs May 23rd and brought them out on shelves a bit earlier, so perhaps we’ll see that coming from Verizon. A quick recap on the price: it’s $509.99 with no contact or $149.99 on a two-year strings attached which includes the $100 mail-in rebate. As you know, there’s a camera and non camera version of the device. Use the links below to start your shopping.

Buzzd, a New York corporation focusing on location-based services, announced the release today of a significant update to their popular BlackBerry application. The app, also called Buzzd, collects data on venues from many different social networks and aggregates activity on events occurring in real-time at different locations. The app already receives 500,000 check-ins every day, and should see an uptick with the update.
Buzzd seems like a valuable aid in keeping up with important events in an area as well as knowing the activities of friends in the area. The buzzdmeter keeps up with generally popular locations while specialized functions also allow buzzd to inform the user of events important in his or her social circle. Buzzd also allows for the instant posting of reviews on Twitter or Facebook. Buzzd is also being featured in BlackBerry App World this week, so you’ll be able to easily locate it. Hit the jump for the full new features list of Buzzd 3.0

Buying a 16GB microSD card can be quite expensive. Yes, the prices are coming down, but not as low as $19.99. Over at 1 Sale a Day, you can get a 16GB microSD card by SanDisk for only 20 bucks. As the site is called “1 Sale a Day,” this item is on sale for only a day. Shipping is only $5 which still keeps the card cheap and very feasible to you.
Thanks slikmo22 for sending this in!

So the BlackBerry Pearl 3G has set off officially for Rogers now, and any Canadian residents can go ahead and grab one at their local Rogers store or online. I’ll admit I am quite jealous, and very disappointed in carriers here in the United States on their motivation of putting the Pearl 3G out to us. Back to the big news, you can grab your very own Pearl 3G for only $49.99 with a 3 year strings attached contract, or $424.99 with no commitment at all. Kyle from BlackBerry Cool brings up a good point in that there are no themes for this device yet, as the theme builder has not been updated to support the device up until today. We’re seeing a lot of what we saw when the Bold 9000 released and nothing was available for it — even applications weren’t formatted for it yet. This brings me back to a friendly arguement I had with Eric from OCK in regard to the BlackBerry Bold 9800 (slider). It is rumored to come out this month, but Eric’s argument was that there are no developer tools out yet for OS 6.0, which is totally accurate. Perhaps the device will leap into stores and RIM will just worry about apps and themes later on?

After playing lots of fun pinball on my iPad, I started looking for a BlackBerry solution to satisfy my itch. I came across the recently released Pinball Deluxe in our app store and decided to give it a shot. The game is very addictive, and I was happy to see it was at an affordable for everybody price of $4.99. The other plus I saw was that it’s available in five different languages: English, French, Italian, German & Spanish. There isn’t much reading in pinball, but it’s good to have it catered for folks who speak other languages.

RDM+ has a 50% off sale going on through the end of today. In my opinion, it’s one of the best remote desktop applications available on BlackBerry at the moment. It’s easy to use for everyone, and most of all importantly it supports both Windows and Mac OS. Usually you’d dish out $39.95 for the app but today it’s only $19.97. Head over to the PocketBerry Store today and check it out.
