This is a small update in Google Maps, but what we have noticed is that you can share locations via Facebook and now has cycling (bicycle) routes as well.  If you’re a Google Maps for BlackBerry user, then you probably did not get prompted for a new version available.  Use the link below to download it free today.

Ehab just sent me in the official press release from Verizon in regard to a BlackBerry Bold 9650 launch tomorrow.  Don’t get too excited folks – it’s only available online for now.  The device does release in stores on June 10th, but maybe we’ll see Verizon put it out early just like Sprint did.  So if you’ve been waiting for the device, the wait is over.  Head over to the Verizon Wireless website tomorrow and place your order.  You’ll be dishing out $249.99 at first then getting $100 back via mail-in rebate.  Hit the jump for the full press release.

As soon as I saw this, I recalled what the T-Mobile rep at WES 2010 told me in regards to a 3G version of the 8520 coming out.  To me, this is it.  My assumption for now will be that T-Mobile is still not going to rock the Pearl 3G and is going to take on this Curve 3G instead.  These are the first live images of the BlackBerry Curve 9300 via CrackBerry which we have been teased about in the past over the UAFprof documents.  We finally see that it really does resemble the 85xx series and that’s why we assume this is what T-Mobile is taking on.  What do we see different here? It looks like RIM has made it bit more fancy as it rocks some chrome around the trackpad and whole device as a bezel.  The send/end, menu, and back button seem to be the same style as they are all on one surface with the screen.  Media keys seem to still be there and the back side still says “8500 series” all over it (metaphorically speaking).  So who’s up for a Curve 3G?

It looks like AT&T is trying to catch up with other carriers as far as pricing goes.  Or not.  T-Mobile still offers the lowest of the lowest in the United States, and AT&T has instead put out these smaller data plan packages.  When we hear the word unlimited data, we look at it as if we’re going above and beyond when it comes to the usage.  But that’s all about to be proven wrong.  We just got the word this morning that AT&T has put a $15 data plan for BlackBerry giving you 200MB and $25 per month giving you 2GB.  Now I’m not all red white and blue about my unlimited data, but according the Consumer Reports, BlackBerry consumers use about 54MB of compressed and optimized data per month on average.  Those who fall under there will quickly qualify for the $15 per month data plan.  Is it for you?  Hit the jump for the full press release from AT&T

Not too many sports games have been coming around with BlackBerry lately.  I was surprised to see a new soccer game roll out in the PocketBerry Store by Exozet Games GmbH.  Now it’s nothing to other mobile soccer games I’ve played, so don’t expect an iPad 3D experience.  The view is aerial as seen in the screenshots, but the game play is just way too fun.  There’s practice mode which helped me out a lot to get the hang of the controls and actually succeed in winning a match.

Features:

  • Accessible and flexible control
  • Rich settings: 32 world cup countries, pitch, duration, speed, extra time, skill
  • Rich features: Lob, corners, foul, tackle, sideline ball
  • Cunning AI engine
  • Practise mode

Dynomite Pro Football 2010 is only $3.99 to buy.  That’s a set locked price and I think it’s pretty cheap for what you’re getting.  A lot of detailed games like these end up being $5 and up.

We can all just assume that BlackBerry 6 aka OS 6.0 will be arriving well after Apple announced and launches their new iPhone.  Rumors say that the iPhone is supposed to be announced June 7th – and yes we’re RIM is running out time.  Generally speaking, those who are looking to get a smartphone this month will be paying close attention to this iPhone, but as BlackBerry 6 is not being presented properly to the public now, it keeps concentration on Apple rather than RIM.  The BlackBerry Bold 9800 is also expected to launch this month, which many of us are doubting with the lack of developer tools for OS 6.0 that have been given out.  Say the “lack of” is a bit bold to throw there as there haven’t been any period til date.  So what’s RIM going to do? Are we close to the release of BlackBerry 6 or shall we wait more? By it being delayed, will more migrate to the iPhone? Drop us a line and let us know what you think.

We’ve seen lots of variations and third party apps available for FMyLife in the past.  It looks like the official application is now available for BlackBerry and it’s free.  Justin let us know that it’s now available for free download and comes with some pretty cool options along with it.  You’re able to log in via BlackBerry and submit your own stories right from there where you used to only be able to see what others posted.  Hit the link below to download the application absolutely free.

What better way is there for RIM to step up on their game than having consumers directly sending it their opinions?  As I logged in the the BlackBerry Beta Zone a few moments ago, I realized that there is now a BlackBerry Feedback Tool application available there now.  It’s very straight forward and simple.  Any issues you have on your BlackBerry, you can now submit it right back to RIM and release any anger you may have built of the period of time.  You can sign up to test out this application over at the BlackBerry Beta Zone.  I strongly believe this app should of been out long ago, as BlackBerry usage hasn’t been so stable for everybody, but I am glad to see RIM is finally taking suggestions from the right people now.

Owen from MMMOOO let me know that they have just released a new application called PhotoClub.  Just from the name, I wasn’t sure what to expect but PhotoClub ended up being a very entertaining application.  Look at it as your mobile funny version of PhotoShop – kind of.  It allows you to draw on people’s faces and add funny objects like mustaches, hats, wigs, and more.  All pictures you can “funny-up” come from you, so easily access them via BlackBerry internal memory, or your microSD card.

Features:

  • 6 functions to deal with your photo, you can use one of them or some of them in one time
  • You can add own custom cliparts or frame
  • Easy to use, speedy in operation

PhotoClub is only $6.99 to purchase.  Head over to our app store today and grab your copy.

ZAGG is definitely one of my favorite BlackBerry accessory companies as you never know what to expect from them next.  We’ve seen the clever Invisible Shield, ZAGGskins, and even the ZAGGsparq.  I’ve personally been following up on this bad boy for quite some time now, and found out that it has launched about two weeks ago officially.  Now this isn’t a direct BlackBerry related accessory, but it does charge its battery for me and therefore it should very well be included here.  For those unaware, the ZAGGsparq is pretty much a portable and chargeable battery that allows you to charge your electronics (BlackBerry, iPod, iPad, etc) by connecting the USB wire in it and into your device.  If any of you have been following this item, then you’re well aware that this is version 2.0 which is new and improved, supporting the Apple iPad now.  It’s got two USB ports allowing you to charge two devices at a time.  As you can see in the thumbnails below, you have four lights and a button to push at anytime to check how far along the charge is.  Remind you of a MacBook AC adapter by any chance?  Hit the jump to check out our full review.
