Is it here yet? It looks like both BerryReview and CrackBerry have reported some random BIS behavior this morning.  We all knew about BIS 3.1 and how Yahoo! Mail will have their contact sync available.  That was the first sign of it sneaking up on us now.  Secondly, it was then discovered that a new icon for Hotmail accounts has showed up as well.  Perhaps we’re in the transition of getting over to BIS 3.1 but it certainly looks like the ball is starting to roll now.  If any of you Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail users notice anything different, drop us a line!

I personally use a ZAGGsparq only because I like to be able to charge both my iPad and BlackBerry on the go.  The Primo Battery Cube makes it smartphone exclusive as it supports both Android and BlackBerry devices.  A plus is that it is a lot smaller making it more realistic to travel around with it.  It does come 1000maH which isn’t bad at all for something that small.  They retail for only $34.95, so that might make you choose it over the sparq just for the price.  Hit the link below to check out more information on it.

Personally, CaptureIt is my favorite app for screenshots, but there’s always alternatives and competitor apps out there so here’s one of them.  As it just hit the PocketBerry Store, we haven’t played around with it at all, but it is free, and you guys do like free apps.  It’s called ScreenShot Free and seems to have quite a few options as you can see in its control panel above in the screenshot.  Hit the link below to download absolutely free.

So we don’t know much of anything on a BlackBerry Storm 3 or its existence, but Salomondrin has put up some leaked rumors and specs on it.  We saw sketches by Elecite which the whole world frowned upon instantly as they were obviously fake and not accurate, making those folks lose a lot of credibility.  We hope these are true as they seem to be the most realistic leaked details we’ve had yet.  So back to the BlackBerry Storm 3, here’s what’s in store:

  • It’s currently being tested by a limited team to prevent leaks out
  • Shell is the same as the Storm 2 but is different under the hood
  • 1GHz Processor
  • 8GB Internal Memory
  • 512MB flash memory but later has been tested with 1GB isntead
  • It will NOT run OS 6.0 – Instead a new OS of its own
  • 5MP camera as of now
  • Ability to run widgets with lots of personalization
  • Something new with the screen but will still have SurePress
  • It will be Verizon’s first or second LTE device released

That’s all we have for now, but I’m sure as time goes by we’ll be seeing more leak out.  Being that the team testing the device out is very specific, small and limited, it will be a little tougher to get inside info as well as leaked screenshots.

The first generation BlackBerry Storm 9530 seems to be left behind quite a bit as far as OS updates go.  Over the weekend, a new OS has been leaked, ranking at version 5.0.0.685.  Of course it is leaked, but it is the highest and latest version available yet.  I did an install earlier this morning on my old throwback Storm and I must say I’m a lot happier with it than I was with the native Verizon OS on there.  Download and install at your own risk of course and feel free to share with us what your experiences were like with it.

It’s one of those app utilities you have to try for yourself to believe it. Check out this free version and maybe the premium one might appeal to you.

Browsing via BlackBerry? Click here to video

We knew it was going to reach out to T-Mobile as early as WES this year as some reps there did leak the information out to us.  So here’s a video Ehab got as a tip earlier this morning via Techno Buffalo showing you a quick hands on video of the BlackBerry Curve 9300.  This is the first hands on video we see of the device ever, and seeing it T-Mobile branded does make us feel that it is coming soon.  Keep in mind this is a pre-production model so don’t look at it as the final release.

We saw a lot of these at WES as they unveiled the BlackBerry Pearl 3G officially and were wondering when they’d be in town.  They’ve been out for a few weeks now, and I actually just stumbled upon it now for the first time at the PocketBerry Store.  They come in seven different colors as seen above and sell for only $9.95.  I know many of you Berry peeps in the US haven’t had your Pearl 3G fixation yet, but for everyone else in the world who’s enjoying the luxury of SureType, these skins are great.  By the way, these are for both the 9100 and 9105.

It looks like we have another edition the BlackBerry Beta Zone.  We’ve seen BBM, Podcast app, Feedback tool, and now the latest – Traffic.  We haven’t had a full hands on with it yet, but we do have these nice screenshots of the app that will give you a little idea of what to expect.  BlackBerry Traffic seems to be a nice “what’s around you” kind of application that may or may not replace some of your favorite location based applications you currently use.  Mainly we understand it calculates traffic for you giving estimated time of arrivals and such. Let’s see how it flies.  We have a few more screenshots below, but we definitely will try to get a hands on review going.  Check them out as you’ll get a better idea of the application.  If you’re currently a BlackBerry Beta Zone member, sign in and see if your eligible to beta test this cool app.

Thanks Reef for sending this one in!
