Just a heads up, for all those who remember the SmrtCase Glide for the BlackBerry Tour, it’s now available for the Bold 9650 as well.  We’re not exactly sure if the case is any different than the original one as the Tour and Bold 9650 do share the same body but have slightly different locations for the micro USB input which may not be a big deal.  So as a promotion, use the coupon code “pocketberry” to purchase your own Glide case today.  For those unaware, the Glide case allows you to keep your credit card and ID right in the back of your BlackBerry, making it really easy for a night out.  We will be reviewing the all new SmrtWallet soon, so stay tuned for that as well.

A few hours ago, US Cellular posted on their Facebook fan page that the BlackBerry Bold 9650 is coming as soon as this August (early in the month to be exact).  We all know the 9650, saw it in action , and do see it available for both Sprint and Verizon.  Now US Cellular is joining up on that and will be rockin’ it soon.  Stay tuned for more as US Cellular releases more info on official launch dates and pricing.

We’re very impressed with T-Mobile lately, staying on top of their game with OS updates.  Not too long ago we had a .586 update, and now we see them fully caught up to .714.  This has been released for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 for T-Mobile in the United States.  To download the OS, head over to t-mobile.com/bbupgrade and follow the instructions there.

Last week at the BlackBerry App World event in New York, we were given a chance to chat with the folks over at DriveSafe.ly.  In seeing an in depth overview of the app, I was given the opportunity to see the Caller ID Reader application that they officially launched today.  Caller ID Reader is really handy as it reads to you both the caller’s name and phone number loud on your speaker when someone calls.  Traditionally, we know about DriveSafe.ly that reads messages including emails and texts to you out loud, so this Caller ID Reader app handles the calling portion.  There’s both a free and premium version, as we were warned that the freebie does prompt you to upgrade to the premium after using it a few times, but you can still continue using it with no problem if you don’t mind the solicitation.  If you’re looking to buy it, it’s only $3.95 to own and can be purchased at calleridreader.com.  Hit the jump for the full press release.

It looks like Driphter.com has posted some OS 6.0 hybrids available for download.  We have not tried any of these, nor do we recommend to do so as they are hybrids and pretty much you subject yourself to having anything happen to your BlackBerry (such as it getting bricked).  Download and install at your own risk, but we did want to give you the heads up for those waiting around.

It’s seems to be right on point.  Sort of.  We were expecting to see more webkit action hit the streets sooner than now.  June is just about over and many over-speculated as RIM has not released OS 6 aka BlackBerry 6 or the BlackBerry Bold/Torch 9800.  With name changes still in order, we don’t even expect the device to release as soon as everyone expected.  On a brighter note, we got the press release from Adobe that they have released Flash 10.1 to cell phone makers.  We do see a mention of BlackBerry along with all other platforms, and expected to arrive “in the coming months.”  We’re all excited and I’m sure many of you are for the future of mobile web browsing.  Hit the jump for the full press release from Adobe.

There’s seems to be quite of variety of eBook readers out there available for BlackBerry now.  For a while I was a fan of Kobo, but now thanks to the iPad, I don’t need it any longer.  So according to CrackBerry’s find, Borders is launching an eBook reader with no set date.  Hit the link below to read up more information on app.

Just a heads up to everyone waiting to be invited into Google Voice, it is now available to the general public.  Ehab let me know about this earlier as he has been waiting for it, and I didn’t even realize I had invitations to give out up until now.  Those are useless now obviously.  So head over to google.com/voice and reserve your free phone number today where you can have it forwarded to any line you like with awesome voicemail access.  Of course feel free to download the BlackBerry Google Voice application over at m.google.com.  Enjoy everyone.
