Nothing new here at all but in any case we wanted to show you more pictures that Berrytimes.cn has posted, as we saw many different views of the device already, along with a walkthrough video on OS 6.0 with it.  Hit the link below to check out more images of the BlackBerry Bold aka Torch 9800.  Something to notice from the pictures is the thickness of the device.  you’ll see the 9800 compared to the Storm 2 along with the Bold 9700 and it doesn’t seem to be bad at all.  This was a big concern for me when I thought about it.  So given that it is pretty slim as other newer devices, it may be well worth it go for, right?

I thought it was my lousy service at first, but folks who will remain nameless (Dana, sorry) reported that Facebook for BlackBerry was giving issues.  It seems to be on and off as some messages will come in, but it’s nearly impossible to send a message out.  The error message displayed is “There was an error in transmitting your notification, you can try resending it.”  We’re not sure if everyone is having the same dilemma, but I have received a few personal complaints from friends and colleagues both near and fear.  Are any of you Facebook users having issues on the BlackBerry app?

Last week, RIM held App World events in both New York and California.  We attended the New York event and got a chance to speak with some of the public relations people from RIM.  Ronen from BerryReview posted up a good walkthrough video he came across from the California event which we felt was a really good one to watch as you see it hands on live.

This app is called uZard Web P, and it’s basically another alternative mobile web browser for BlackBerry.  In the description they mention that website do show up as they do on your computer, as that is a bold statement to make.  I haven’t tried it yet but wanted to give you all the heads up that it is free to download as a beta today from the PocketBerry Store.  It does say that it is only compatible with the BlackBerry Bold 9000, which is a bit strange to me. Hit the link below to download it over the air or to read more info about uZard.

Rumors »

It’s a bit overwhelming keeping up with RIM these days as they are going above and beyond when it comes to new innovative ideas.  We’ve seen bits and pieces (mostly rumors) on the BlackPad which just shot out of nowhere and now we’re seeing something called the “BlackBerry Drive” get trademarked by RIM.  What could this be? Ronen from BerryReview suggests that this could be part of a whole car entertainment system using your BlackBerry.  We’ve seen Microsoft SYNC which is now equipped in Ford autpmobiles and how it is Pandora-ready via BlackBerry.  Maybe RIM is taking on their own car entertainment here.  What do you guys think?

Carrier News »

I just read over at BGR about Verizon taking on some alternative routes when it comes to their data plans.  According to a Bloomberg interview, the idea is there and the CFO of Verizon has suggested to adopt plans as AT&T has recently.  How do you folks feel about carriers removing unlimited data plans and incorporating these limited? For many BlackBerry users out there, the data limitation does not hurt as the average BlackBerry user does not go over the 2GB cap or 200MB for that matter.  Drop us a line below in the comments.
