Our friends over at BerryCn got some live screenshots of the BlackBerry Curve 8980! The last I remember seeing this device is while we were at WES where it was pictured next to the BlackBerry 9670 clamshell. So here’s the rumored 8980, and by the look of it, it’s heading over to China Mobile. I guess we can assume it’s still under testing and will be coming soon after. How about the US?

We got the word on this too late, and all betas are full now. Dropbox is a great application I’ve been using on my iPad since I got it. To explain it simply, it creates a folder on your computer where you can drag and drop files in and then easily access them via mobile. As it has been in favor of Apple for quite awhile, it has now extended to BlackBerry, but of course in private beta for the time being. You can click the link below to try for yourself, but as of now, there’s now more invitations.

Ok so now we’re allowed to show you guys the Rubik’s Cube Game for BlackBerry screenshots. Yesterday we had them up and were told to remove them until further notice. The game as a result has not released yet on Bplay, but will be coming soon. The rumored launch date was this afternoon, and I’m sure it’s nothing but minor kinks and fixes. So here are the official screenshots! Hit the jump to check them all out.

Elecite has been keeping pretty low lately with releasing themes but just last night I saw that they had one called Pure which recently released and we didn’t notice. Pure is a very simple theme, but it is a bit bright which I do not like. If you’re familiar with Elecite themes, you know there’s a bunch of hidden menus and tons of customizable icons. This one gives you 5 to 10 to customize.

UPDATE: I was looking at the chart again and it looks like graphite is the other color the 9300 will come in. Sorry for not noticing it before folks!
Unfortunately, this isn’t crazy ground breaking news we want to hear now. With BlackBerry 6 and the rumored launch date of the BlackBerry 9800 Slider floating in the air at the moment, we fail to acknowledge other devices such as the BlackBerry Curve 9300. Here we have a leaked spreadsheet showing Bell’s pricing for the Curve 9300 including the 3 year, 2 year, 1 year, and no contract pricing upon launch date.
- 3-yer contract: $49.95
- 2-year contract: $199.95
- 1-year contract: $299.95
- 30-day/No-contract: $349.95
Something I noticed in the spreadsheet is the word “fuschia” which I am familiar with it reading “fuchsia.” For those who don’t remember, fuchsia is the color of the Curve 8520 that launched for T-Mobile not too long ago. I looked it up and the confirmed spelling is “fuchsia” but again we see fuschia here and the mistake is very common. Either way, we are going to assume that the Curve 9300 for Bell will be coming in fuchsia red as the spreadsheet suggests. So here we go, to the Curve 9300 in Fuchsia red, launching on August 12th. Are we missing anything else?

So is it a 7 inch or a 9.7 inch tablet? We’ve been going back and forth between the two, but I certainly do prefer the 9.7 incher. According to Engadget, RIM’s tablet is coming this November “officially.” There is no word when it will readily be available, but the announcement has been rumored to be in the month of November. Next in line is the name. The other day we let you know about RIM registering BlackPad.com but it was speculated to be that they bought it just for the sake of others trying to mimic or copy a product. Well if the rumors are true, “BlackPad” is going to be the official name of the BlackBerry tablet. Sad as it sounds, and Apple fanboys will forever laugh in our faces for it. Let’s hope the rumor is not true, and we see last minute changes like the BlackBerry Tour 2 to Bold. More after the jump!

Over at the official BlackBerry Developer’s Blog, RIM introduces BlackBerry 6 to developers. It doesn’t sound big but this is pretty much the introduction to the next step in BlackBerry development. Tips, tricks, and more will be posted on the Developer’s Blog which as a result will help enhance applications on the new OS platform. On side note the BlackBerry Partners Fund Super Apps Developer Challenge is over in less than 8 weeks. There’s 1.5 million dollars worth of prizes to be given out, so if you are developer, get the ball rolling. Application development for BlackBerry 6 is exciting for both consumers and developers now since we see a lot of what the new OS offers and of course there will always be more with creativity and imagination implemented.

Whether your into BlackBerry or not, we all know that Apple and Android devices have grown high up this year, and RIM has fallen a bit behind with their devices. The release of BlackBerry 6 should be RIM’s way back up the ladder to compete once again, as many BlackBerry users have switched to other platforms for the extension of features and reliability. I came across an interesting article over at eWeek talkign about why Apple must worry now with the launch of BlackBerry 6. Take it as you wish, but I found it entertaining but true. Hit the jump to check it out!
1. RIM is finally ready to play
- For a while, RIM didn’t seem all that prepared to take on Apple and Google in the mobile market. The company’s BlackBerry devices looked obsolete, and its software worked poorly when compared to iOS. But with BlackBerry 6, all that has changed. The software includes several new features, including social and multimedia integration, that make it a far more viable alternative to anything Apple offers. And given the size of its installed base, that could be a major issue for Apple as it attempts to steal BlackBerry owners away from RIM.
2. It’s what the enterprise has waited for
- The enterprise has been the main benefactor of RIM’s BlackBerry for years. Companies that have wanted more functionality and productivity have opted for BlackBerry devices over anything else. But in recent years, those companies realized that BlackBerry OS is becoming obsolete. And they have started looking elsewhere for their mobile needs. With BlackBerry 6, RIM can finally bring those customers back. The software includes the same level of functionality for enterprise users, but adds some streamlined menus and other features to make it more usable. That alone should make enterprise users happy.
