Leaked Info Says BlackBerry Tablet Will Have Flash Support
by Mac Jadalhack
Just yesterday, we gave you some leaked details on the BlackBerry tablet aka BlackPad which is expected to make its big debut by the end of the year. We learned that it will have two cameras (one on the back, one front face) with a 1GHz processor and a 7 inch screen rather than the original 8.9 inch we expected a few months back. Today we learn that the tablet will be Flash supported. Now I know we’re getting OS 6.0 by the end of the summer or September (according to the rumors) and yesterday’s BlackBerry 6 teaser from RIM says it is “coming soon” so Flash in a tablet which is launching at the end of the year shouldn’t be a surprise to me since the OS should support it by then any way. To explain all that in a simpler way, BlackBerry 6 aka OS 6.0 is supposed to support Flash. With a tablet launching in December let’s say, we’d expect it to have Flash also as it is launching after OS 6.0 already has.
So where’s Flash a big deal now? Of course we’ll all make use of it, but on a bigger scale, something like this could be a big challenge to the Apple iPad currently out now. The iPad does indeed lack Flash support as Apple suggests it isn’t necessary and HTML5 is just fine for everyone. I can see Steve Jobs going back on his word after seeing RIM’s tablet fully equipped it. There hasn’t been any other new rumors or leaked information about the BlackBerry tablet besides this Flash news, but stay tuned for more as the end of the year approaches and leaks will happen.
