BlackBerry 6 (OS 6.0) Multimedia Experience Official Screenshots

Just in from the official BlackBerry blog, some new official screenshots of BlackBerry 6 surface.  These are all multimedia related showing you how music, pictures, videos, and overall entertainment has been improved in the new OS.  Some small things I like so far is the new album scrolling for music and ability to mark (check) multiple images at the same time.  Something new and improved is the Video Podcasting.  That’s something I definitely look forward to seeing how smooth it will work.  We hope features like that work over the network and not just WiFi.  And is that a YouTube uploader I see? Yes it is.  You’ll be able to upload YouTube videos smoothly now from your native OS.  Also, check out the camera screenshot.  There’s a whole new UI for the camera now as RIM says you’ll be able to take pictures faster now.  It isn’t shutter I don’t believe, but if we can get faster speeds in taking pictures, we would all very much appreciate that over the minute lag we get now.  More images and info after the jump!

This is what it looks like when you’re listening to music.  As we mentioned above, album scrolling is now fully there making it easy to flip through selections.  You also have the buttons on the bottom to go between tracks.

This is the picture selection feature we mentioned.  Selecting a hand full of pictures and emailing them out has never been easier.  At the moment you really need third party apps to successfully do this in a simple manner.  With OS 6.0, you’ll be trouble free doing this.

The new camera UI is really exciting.  Geotagging seems to be “perfected” here a bit, but I was never one to get so involved in that.  Flash setting are easier now as they remain on the main screen where it’s no longer required to hit menu >> options any more.  Different modes including auto, face detection, portrait, sports, landscape, and party are all available in the options making your camera feasible in any setting or event.

The YouTube Uploader! I can’t wait, and I’m sure many of you can’t either.  Let’s just hope uploading isn’t too heavy on the battery or take long at all.

This is the music menu.  Nothing too crazy here, just an “enhanced UI” in the sense that it just looks refreshed.

The BlackBerry Podcast app is here.  Not yet, but in OS 6.0.  If you’re currently using third party apps now for your podcasts, you can drop them all once RIM’s official launches with the OS.

And of course, YouTube video player.  The YouTube watching experience has been slowly enhanced over the years and we hope it’s going to get even better now with the new OS.

That’s pretty much it for the quick tour of BlackBerry 6 multimedia.  I’m sure as we get closer to the launch dates, we’ll be seeing more official images and videos surface.
