We’ve seen the BlackBerry Curve 9300 live in action in both videos and photos throughout the past couple months. Here are just some clearer high resolution pictures (courtesy of BGR) giving you a better look at the device. As many folks are hating on the device as it is very similar to the 8500 series, I strongly believe its sleek and makes a good replacement of the older version. Let’s face it, the Curve 8500 series put out a very cheap image as it actually was cheap in material and quality. This revamped Curve 9300 has a lot of cosmetic improvements as you can see in the images. Other than that, adding 3G changes a lot as it has become more of a necessity for BlackBerry devices nowadays. Perhaps former 8500 series owners don’t care for this device and look to upgrade to bigger and better devices such as the Bold but for folks just beginning with BlackBerry, this is more than a great start. Hit the jump for more great high resolution pictures.

This could be exciting news for you Canadians, especially those on Rogers. According to a rumor floating around, the BlackBerry 9800 Slider is going to be exclusively for Rogers only when it comes to Canada. We already know that AT&T gets it exclusive first in the United States, but no word on anyone getting it after. But when it comes to Canada, Bell and Telus already have a touch screen Storm, allowing Rogers to have the higher hand for the 9800. The rumor states exactly that “the 9800 could be exclusive to Rogers only due to Bell and Telus already has touch screen BlackBerrys (Storm 1 and 2).” I just hope AT&T gets it first as Rogers got the Pearl 9100 faster than ever while it’s still not available in the US.

A lot of these Twitter clients for the Apple platform seem to somehow find their ways to BlackBerry eventually. We got the word from CrackBerry that Hootsuite is coming to a BlackBerry near you (on the device itself actually). At the moment, you can sign up to participate in the beta program by clicking here. Other than that, there isn’t much on what the application will look like, which devices will be compatible, or the official launch date.

If there’s anything BlackBerry themes are good for, it’s replicating other platforms. We’ve seen many variations of Android themes on BlackBerry, but this is the latest called BeFroyo.

- High quality SVG that is hand-coded for best performance

BeFroyo is $2.99 at the PocketBerry Store until August 11th then it’s back up to $5.99 so catch the sale while it’s here.

Over the past few months, it looks like BlackBerry Messenger is RIM’s strongest value in their devices. I’ve been seeing a lot of push for BBM everywhere including Time Square in New York where there’s various billboards telling you how great BBM is. The commercial above is a TV ad commercial I came across at the BlackBerry YouTube channel. I’m liking these a lot because RIM is really showing how BlackBerry and BBM is for everyone whether it’s for personal or business use. We have the rest of the clips after the jump as well so make sure to check them all out.

Just yesterday, we gave you some leaked details on the BlackBerry tablet aka BlackPad which is expected to make its big debut by the end of the year. We learned that it will have two cameras (one on the back, one front face) with a 1GHz processor and a 7 inch screen rather than the original 8.9 inch we expected a few months back. Today we learn that the tablet will be Flash supported. Now I know we’re getting OS 6.0 by the end of the summer or September (according to the rumors) and yesterday’s BlackBerry 6 teaser from RIM says it is “coming soon” so Flash in a tablet which is launching at the end of the year shouldn’t be a surprise to me since the OS should support it by then any way. To explain all that in a simpler way, BlackBerry 6 aka OS 6.0 is supposed to support Flash. With a tablet launching in December let’s say, we’d expect it to have Flash also as it is launching after OS 6.0 already has.

We got some interesting statistics from RIM PR in regards to BlackBerry Messenger traffic during the World Cup this year. Of course during the World Cup, fans and all viewers of the event were conversing back and forth – and if on a BlackBerry, then BBM was most likely used. Here are a few key moments where BBM traffic spiked up:
- USA v England, June 12th (Match Day 2): traffic spiked 35% globally at the time of the first goal, scored by England.
- Netherlands v Brazil, July 2nd (Match Day 20): traffic jumped by 122% globally at the time of the second goal, scored by the Netherlands.
- Argentina v Germany, July 3rd (Match Day 21): traffic rose by 178% globally at the time of the 3rd German goal.
Even soccer players use BBM. We told you about Ashley Cole from Chelsea getting in some trouble as he put up a disrespectful BBM status towards England fans. BlackBerry Messenger was apparently a big communication tool during the World Cup as the statistics show the huge increase of traffic and stories we hear about the players such as Cole using it. Personally I am in a BBM group of a few friends and I must say World Cup was a number one topic since the first day it started. I could only imagine how many others were discussing scores and outstanding plays throughout the event. Now the World Cup is over, and traffic will become mainstream again, and most of you probably will delete your Vuvuzela applications, if not already.

Who remembers Bomberman? For me, this game is a hit classic, and something I’ve played on systems as old as Nintendo, or perhaps Sega Genesis. I came across it online for a free download available and it just brought lots of good memories back. If you’re not familiar with Bomberman, the objective of the game is to plant bombs to open up paths for yourself and to kill bad guys. So if this is something you think you’ll like play, hit the link below to download. Keep in mind this one is called Bomber, as it isn’t branded Bomberman. It’s still the same game though as you see.
