It looks like Driphter.com has done it again, but this time it’s a nice hands on experience with the Webkit browser we’re all waiting to try first hand.  The device is using WiFi and seems to work really smooth when loading full web sites.  What I want to see is how fast it goes over a 3G or even EDGE network.  In the video, he mentions it is an early stage and we will see speed improvements in the browser, but who knows?

I love it.  A lot of people don’t like BlackBerry commercials but I think they are all great so far — not evening saying it because I’m a fan! Any way, BlackBerry Messenger has become RIM’s biggest strength keeping customers loyal.  As they haven’t put out much marketing for BBM, they are starting to now as we see advertisements in major cities such as New York and now we see commercials such as these.  What do you think?

In the successful launch of the BlackBerry Bold 9650, RIM has put out a special promotion event.  The Live Bold Be Bold contest is going around to five major cities where you the fans will be making videos and submitting them explaining how you live your life bold.  Apparently this contest has been going on since July 3rd as it started out in Boston.  Here’s the full schedule:

The winner with the best “bold lifestyle” video will have a choice to pick a free trip to Costa Ricka, Australia, or Africa.

I had just installed Flash on my iPad and wanted to see if it worked after rebooting.  So of course I went to BlackBerry.com, to see if the flash animations worked or not.  Thankfully it did, but then I started browsing what RIM was putting up, and I found it funny that they were pushing out GPS and traffic applications, encouraging users to download them.  A couple weeks ago, we saw the first live screenshots of the BlackBerry Traffic application right here as it is currently available in the Beta Zone.  To me it looks like RIM is trying to soak the whole traffic and GPS into BlackBerry users, getting them all prepared for the app.  Do any of you find interest in this new Traffic app?

I was waiting for this to happen at some point or another.  Originally I thought this would make a great iPad game, and said to myself “why don’t they do it on the Storm as well?”  Either way, Beer Pong is now officially on your BlackBerry.  The game is only $2.99 and you already know how to play the game.  You can play against the computer or two player mode to challenge your friends.

We’ve seen RSS feed readers before on BlackBerry, some that a lot still use such as Viigo which has recently been acquired by RIM.  A new one in town called BerryReader is here.  I haven’t played around with it much yet, but so far it’s very swipey and smooth.  It syncs all your Google Reader saved sites and favorites into the app so you don’t have to subscribe to sites all over again.  Hit the jump to check out full features on BerryReader or hit the link below to purchase today for only $9.95.

As I don’t traditionally use Opera Mini, I found out from Ronen at BerryReview that it just got an update that may help out some of you retro BlackBerry owners.  According to the press release, Opera Mini v5.1 has been optimized to work better with lower memory devices, enabling the feature of having multiple tabs open at the same time.  Hit the link below to update Opera Mini today.

We’ve already seen leaked screenshots of BlackBerry Shield.  As we still wait to see when it will be launching, we came across these bits of leaked details which may or may not make you all happy.  Since we posted the leaked screenshots before, some of you were questioning whether or not your media could be backed up or not — the answer is no.  The service is all still free however, and there is still a bunch of great features in store for us.  What we’re happy to see is that a wide selection of BlackBerry devices are being supported and go back as early as the Storm 1 and the Bold 9000.  Hit the jump for all the new full leaked specs.
