This was an interesting statistic to see nowadays. With AT&T removing unlimited data plans, and now having capped ones, mobile data seems be quite dramatic. Verizon has been rumored to adopt similar limited data plans as well which brings us back to the subject.
It looks like Verizon smartphone users are using more data than iPhone users which sounds like a bold statement, but according to a study, it’s true. The average for Verizon smartphone users is 421 MB of data per month while iPhone users stay at a consistent 338 MB average.

From what I remember, Yahoo! Mail started off with having their own BIS email icon on BlackBerry. We later saw Hotmail icons show up, and now it looks like AOL is starting too as well. As seen in the image above, the standard globe under the folder has been replaced with “AOL” written. What others are left out of the exclusive email icons? We have Gmail left behind, but you never know if they’ll put one out as well.

Last week we let you know about the Death Grip app by Xtreme Labs and Fixmo that allowed you to see if an actual “death grip” was possible on your BlackBerry. That app was more for surveying purposes as it prompted with a question if the death grip was successful. A new app is in town called Antennagate which is a bit more advanced than the previous app. Hit the jump for full features and download link.

I wasn’t huge on Evernote for a while because I found no need for it at the time. Ever since my iPad days started, I found it really convenient to have my notes remotely saved and easily accessible whether I was on my BlackBerry or iPad. We got the word from Lifehacker that they have just updated the Evernote BlackBerry app addressing some issues including:
- A native BlackBerry note list and note viewer (no more launching the browser).
- Improved networking and hopefully addresses some of the of the networking troubles some of you have encountered.
As the BlackBerry application is not nearly as nice as the one on iPad, I am pretty confident to see what will come of the app once the BlackBerry 9800 Slider hits the streets. Hit the links below to download the latest beta from Evernote to see these new features in play.
- BlackBerry v. 4.5 (older Curve models) >>
- BlackBerry v. 4.6 (Bold, Tour) >>

Here’s another “5 free” collections we’ve been putting up here and there. These are 5 free BlackBerry games you can download in the strategy category. They all work for most QWERTY BlackBerry devices, but in the event it doesn’t work for you, let us know along with what device you are using.

I’m aware that many games are put out as “very addictive” since it’s always a plus when shopping for them. Warehouse Keeper really is addictive though. In the game, there are boxes scattered all over the level. What you’ll have to do is re-stack them by pushing one box at a time. If you’re in a corner, you’ll be stuck and won’t be able to pull it out. So I guess you can say there is some thinking involved here.
Features:
- 92 Exciting Levels
- Increasing in Difficulty
- Auto Save Functionality
- Many Hours of Gameplay
- Designed Specifically for BlackBerry Smartphones
- Compatible with trackball, trackpad and touch-screen devices
- Quick Level Restart in case You Get Stuck
- Undo Buttons to Undo Your Last Move or Push
If you don’t want to buy it or aren’t sure yet, you can still get a trial version so hit the link below to purchase or to download the trial which lets you play levels 1 through 5. For now it’s on sale for $2.99 as a promotion price but will later go up to $4.99.

I can’t really call this one a commercial, but it is pushing BlackBerry out there and why it is so good. This video goes through the whole BlackBerry platform explaining the birds and bees in a unique and fun way we haven’t seen RIM do before.

General News »

Could it be? It looks like the top of the flyer has both the BlackBerry and AT&T logo. What are we expecting from AT&T soon? Perhaps the BlackBerry 9800 Slider anyone? Although there have been small rumors on the Pearl 9100 coming to AT&T, we haven’t had anything on that other than a AT&T branded bezel for sale. The Pearl is not the least bit going to be part of the event, as it already had its hall of fame at WES this year. This right here seems focused more on OS 6.0 and the 9800. Last we heard, the rumored launch date is August 15th for AT&T to receive the 9800. With the event being held on August 3rd which is not too far from the 15th, we’re going to go ahead and say RIM will indeed be unveiling the BlackBerry 9800 Slider and AT&T will then announce its available launch date perhaps. There’s no doubt in our minds at this point.
So the mystery event has to be the BlackBerry Slider 9800 in my opinion for obvious reasons. A lot of people are going to be there it looks like as many blogs are posting all about it. We’ll be there live in NY at the event along with some other websites including BerryReview, CrackBerry, BGR, Engadget, and many other online publications. Stay tuned for more.

Accessories »

Similar to other accessories we’ve seen, a new one by IDAPT just hit the streets. At a low price starting at $34.99, the IDAPT allows you to put multiple gadgets on a platform to charge. There is the i2, i3, and i4. One charges two devices, the next three, and then last four. Compared to other chargers, this one is fairly cheap and saves a whole lot of hassle as well. Forget tangled cords under the table. the IDAPT desk charger has a single wire from the wall to the device and that is all.
