Today’s App Deal of the Day goes out to Battery Booster. Usually it’s $9.99 but for today only it is $4.99. Battery Booster promises to enhance your battery life by doing several actions. One of which is that it uses better backlight time out and brightness settings to keep your battery going longer. Here are the full features:
- Battery saving recommendations for BlackBerry® settings: best practice backlight timeout and brightness settings for battery preservation.
- Automatic battery saving mechanisms when devices is not used: radio or WiFi connections might not be necessary when the device is locked.
- Low signal radio saver: a BlackBerry® phone searches extensively for better network coverage when the radio reception is low, this wastes an tremendous amount of power and drains the battery very quickly. BatteryBooster can now switch off your radio if reception is too low.
- Fully configurable battery saving options.

Who cares about the BlackBerry Curve 9300, I know. For a device that no one’s really hyped about, there’s been a lot of news and leaked images for it. We get all this about the 9300, but we still don’t know the official name of the BlackBerry 9800 Slider. Any way, here’s a Curve 9300 I spotted on eBay, as the last few days I have been searching eBay to see what leaked devices are out there for sale, hoping to see a 9800, but I guess no one wants to sell that bad boy. It’s at $300 now with 3 bids for those interested in the next lowest end Curve.

We got the word late last night from one of our readers Rob that MetroPCS is now locked and loaded for the BlackBerry Curve 8530. Before we only saw the Curve 8330 hit the streets with Metro, but the device had already been well outdated by then. Even though we have a BlackBerry Curve 9300 on its way, the Curve 8530 is still a good BlackBerry to have as it still rocks OS 5.0, has WiFi, and of course 3G. After $50 mail-in rebate, you’ll be paying $229.99 for the device. So how about the plan? As you know, MetroPCS is a prepaid phone company so the BlackBerry is also. For $60, you’ll get unlimited talk, text, and web. Great deal or what? You can order the device online, or head over to a local MetroPCS store near you as we’re told most stores are carrying them in stock and not all.

Throughout every version of UberTwitter that has been launched, tons of features get added. Perhaps this is why UberTwitter ends up being the best Twitter application for BlackBerry with everything it has to offer. The change log is much to large so just as a highlight, the biggest deals we saw here was UberChannels, Instapaper integration, the new UI of course, muting users instead of unfollowing, Twitvid library search, and much more. Hit the jump to read the full change log and to download UberTwitter Beta 8.

There’s too much gossip on the Apple fan boy side lately, especially after Steve Jobs accused the BlackBerry Bold 9700 of having a death grip. How many folks tried to “successfully” lose reception by replicating what was done in Apple’s video? Many did, not many succeeded though. Xtreme Labs and Fixmo have teamed up together in creating the BlackBerry Death Grip Application for BlackBerry devices. What’s the point? It’s basically like a survey being conducted and based off the results you get from the app, you can then decide to submit whether your death grip worked or not. We can’t call it the BlackBerry Death Grip Application, but that is suitable name. It’s officially called Antenna Meter, but it is used to test whether or not a death grip works on your BlackBerry or not. Hit the link below to download OTA and let us know about your experience.
