It’s been a while since we posted PocketBerry Phone Store specials, so as I was just browsing our app store, I went and looked to see what phone specials we were currently offering as well.  It looks the best deal at the moment is the AT&T BlackBerry Bold 9700.  Not only is this one of the most popular devices on the market now, it’s also free across the board.  On top of that, the activation fee has been waived as well.  All you have to do is open a new line with AT&T to get it all for free. Hit the link below to place a purchase or to check out other great phone deals from all carriers in the US.

This was just brought to my attention now as BerryReview pointed out the new change, and realized we had the same going on as well with our application store.  It looks like MobiHand has upgraded their store pages adding QR codes to all items in the store.  So where’s the benefit you ask? Let’s say your browsing on a computer and would like to switch to mobile to do the rest of your transaction or reading about an item.  Simply scan the QR code and you’ll easily switch from desktop to mobile faster than ever.  Head over to the PocketBerry Store today and check it out.

Last week we were invited to the Ford plant in New York City to check out what Ford is doing in its new vehicles with its famous MyFord Touch system.  MyFord Touch is a very unique interface, designed for Ford vehicles only (obviously) with a ton of options.  We’re going to focus on how it goes well with your BlackBerry.  Don’t get me wrong, it goes well with all other mobiles as well, but since we do go through everything Berry, we liked to focus our overview on how well the BlackBerry went with the MyFord Touch system.

Like any other wireless connection, you must turn on Bluetooth, search for nearby devices and connect.  Upon entering the vehicle and approaching the screen to push the “search for Bluetooth devices” option, everything came simple.  A number code comes up on the screen and you’ll just have to enter that number into your BlackBerry, like you would when connecting to other devices.  Once connected, you’ll see everything start to merge together as one.

I guess shortly after the BlackBerry Desktop Manager leaks, RIM decided to put out some 6.0 screenshots of it and have it available as a limited beta in the BlackBerry Beta Zone.  Here we have posted the screenshots via Inside BlackBerry showing you how the different BlackBerry Desktop Manager 6.0 looks.  It honestly is starting to resemble the Mac version, but of course the UI looks a lot better.  If you’re looking to get in on BDM 6.0, head over to the BlackBerry Beta Zone and see if you are eligible to try it out.

A friend of mine just sent me these nice wallpapers for the recently released movie Inception.  These are all 480 x 360 formatted so if you have a lower resolution BlackBerry, you can shrink it or just try it as is.  If you haven’t seen Inception yet, make time to see it, preferably in IMAX as it does make a huge difference.  So in celebrating the great movie, throw a wallpaper on your BlackBerry.  Hit the jump to view all 8 of the Inception wallpapers.

Many of you are going to say this was quite obvious, but I did feel the need to point it out.  There’s no breaking news here, but Foursquare recently made its way into the BlackBerry App World.  By having the app available there, it recruited more users in on the fun and understanding its experience.  Over the past few days while browsing through the top free apps in App World, I couldn’t help but notice it became more and more popular and then made its way into the top 10.

No change log once again.  It’s not like we expected one with the small update in numbers any way.  So now that many of you are on Google Voice since it’s open to the public, you all can now update the app.  We’re sure this update consists of small bug fixes if that.  How much longer will it be in beta for? Look how long Gmail sat in beta and then you’ll stop counting the days.

It looks like the leakage continues as not only OS versions leak out, but BlackBerry Desktop Manager as well.  This is version 5.0.1.40, and we’re not exactly sure what is and isn’t in this version.  Big thanks to Driphter for spotting this one out too once again.  If the link goes dead, drop us a line.  On a side note, this is not the Mac version, we just didn’t feel like taking a screenshot and just posted up the BDM icon that just so happens to be for Mac! So once again, this is for PC users only.

It’s been a while since some leakage went on.  Today we get three common devices with the same OS leak.  Here’s OS 5.0.0.822 for the BlackBerry Bold 9000, Curve 8900, and 8520.  All are leaked so download and install at your own risk.  If a link goes dead, let us know!

This is really awesome.  I’m definitely liking how RIM is going about this with BlackBerry 6 so far.  I don’t know about you but these videos are making me want this BlackBerry 9800 Slider to launch already.  Let’s hope the rumored August 15th launch date is accurate as I will be there to grab one, and am sure many of you will too.  This video shows you the 9800 booting up along with the setup screen.
