Not really caring much about this, but I am posting it up because the pictures do show you quite a few nice angles of the BlackBerry 9670 clamshell’s body. Looking at that thick side view gets me worried about what to expect from its thickness. I will admit that rockin’ my Torch 9800 in my pocket does not feel as nice as the Bold 9700 did in there. The 9670 might just require a belt clip of some sort at this rate. Another thing noticed here is that there is still no branding on this shell, but it doesn’t say anywhere on the description that it is OEM. Any way if for some odd reason you need to buy the shell, you can head over to True Supplier and place an order.

We haven’t been so bothered with this issue, but I’ve came across it on Twitter a few times seeing people rant about it. Mauricio from BBRocks spotted a solution from the BlackBerry Technical Solutions Center which means yes, RIM does know about it and has put up a solution. Now many of you may be upset about this but it looks like the only solution right now is to make sure you have the “latest, legally approved” OS installed on your BlackBerry. So those of you on some old leaks or older OS in general – try updating and see if your BBM icon remains.
So if you need to update, head over to our OS page and select your carrier following by the device you own to see what’s the latest.

We heard awhile back on the Facebook fan page that US Cellular was getting the BlackBerry Bold 9650. We just got the word that tomorrow it will officially be available in all retail locations. I had a hard time spotting the device on their website so they’re probably planning on posting that up sometime tomorrow along with the launch. In the press release, it is emphasized that the 9650 does support BlackBerry 6, and it’s funny seeing OS 5.0 referred to as “BlackBerry 5″ sounds like a band. That’s the main punch line. Because everyone will just look at it as a BlackBerry that’s been out for quite some time now, so BlackBerry 6 support is the new push. Any way, we’ll definitely fill you in on pricing details tomorrow. You all know the specs to the Bold 9650 already, nothing new but another BlackBerry 6 supported device moving along to other carriers. Hit the jump for the full press release.

Something I’ve noticed in the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a glitch with the Favorites tab. I’ve marked various apps including BBM and some email folders to be there, but after a few days they seem to disappear. Not all of them though, but some. The only things that remain there are contact shortcuts, website shortcuts, and applications. So my main issue here is BlackBerry Messenger, and Messages folders to remain there. I’ve tweeted and found out that there are other users experiencing this glitch and a fix for it is available in the .161 leak we saw all over the web yesterday. Are you having any kinks with your favorites?

We made a mistake before thinking the 9670 we posted earlier today was indeed branded, but was not as a result. So here’s some more further info on the 9670 clamshell showing that Sprint is indeed getting the device. As for the other device, I’m guessing since it’s CDMA that it will be the Curve 9330, but we’ll call it the 9300 until the model number officially pops up. BBLeaks got this image which we’re told is both the BlackBerry 9670 and Curve 9300 being tested in a Sprint facility. The BlackBerry Curve 9300 seems to be Sprint branded while the 9670 clamshell is not. Either way it gives us a bigger heads up of what to expect from RIM and Sprint in the next few months. Has excitement died out since the Torch 9800 launched already?
On a side note, I just got confirmation from LouisV that it is branded as a 9330. Duh.

Make your friends believe you have a fingerprint scanner to authorize access to your BlackBerry. FingerScanner allows you to set up how many beeps it takes to unlock. Lets say you set it to 3 beeps. Then you put your finger on the screen until you hear 3 beeps and remove your finger. As a result the phone will unlock and access shall be granted. Everyone who just tries to unlock using their fingerprints will get an “access denied” message as seen above.

UPDATE: Andrew has shed some light and has brought it to my attention that the “Sprint” logo has been added in this image. Foolish me for not picking that up right away. Sorry folks!
Here’s the first carrier branded BlackBerry 9670 clamshell we’ve seen yet. Over the last few months knowing it was a CDMA device, it was pretty certain that Verizon would be putting the clamshell on its shelves but BGR received this photo from someone in possession of it Sprint branded of the device So will Sprint have it for awhile exclusively then adopt it later to Verizon? According to the rumors, Spring will be getting it in the next couple months. Stay tuned.

Given that the BlackBerry Torch is exclusive to only AT&T in the United States, we strongly believe that the opening weekend sales were quite positive. Those statistics are being comparing to the iPhone 4 which was not only exclusive to AT&T but to other carriers around the world, which obviously calls for higher numbers. With 150,000 units sold in the first weekend on a single carrier in the whole world, we feel that RIM did not do so bad. I do see a huge hype for the device and GSM users all over the world are purchasing unlocked BlackBerry Torch units anywhere from $500-750 as we’ve seen through eBay and Craigslist.
Also, the Torch seems to be cheaper to manufacturer than other smartphones. In a Wall Street Journal post, they break down the parts of the Torch 9800 as seen in the image above calculating each piece. The iPhone 4 costs $188 to make while the HTC Incredible is $165 becoming cheaper than the two. While poking at the hardware to see what its cost are, there is some frowning upon the low 624MHz processor in the Torch where other smartphones are putting out 1GHz and more. I think we’ll definitely be seeing stronger processors in RIM’s future devices including the rumored BlackPad.

These images surfaced from BBLeaks, but there’s no telling how legit they can be since we haven’t heard anything of those model numbers and the one screenshot for the 9850 About screen is funny with it reading “Smartphone” on the first line. The 9890 seems to be running OS 6.3.0.975 whole the 9850 has a 6.3.0.899. With the numbers starting with 98, we feel that the 9850 could be a CDMA Torch (assuming the screenshot is legit). As for the 9890, I am just lost. It doesn’t seem to be a larger screen, which we assume this one below has with the blanket covering the rest perhaps. Ideas anyone?

It’s most likely a typo or just a mistake, or maybe a leak in advanced by accident that Dell hasn’t picked up on? Kyle from BlackBerry Cool spotted that the new Dell App Store is selling apps for the BlackBerry 9900 in advanced before the device is even out. Some titles I see on the list that ring a bell include Tether for BlackBerry, IM+, and Ascendo Money. So we have the applications out. Now all we need is the actual device to come out.
So a Dell App Store for mobiles? I was disappointed enough seeing the AT&T App Center on the BlackBerry Torch 9800. Come on.
