It looks like a screenshot from the troubleshooting page but the Sprint BlackBerry Curve 9330 seems to be having some issues.  The issue seems that all stock games including BrickBreaker and WordMole seem to be getting deleted on their own.  Here’s the word for word issue:

After the ##RTN command is performed on a Sprint BlackBerry Curve 9330 smartphone, BlackBerry App World storefront and all preloaded games other than BrickBreaker and Word Mole are unexpectedly removed without user action.

So some preloaded games seem to be getting deleted here.  BrickBreaker I would mind just because I do actually enjoy playing from time to time, but as far as the other trials, they can go.

Just yesterday we showed you the red carpet launch party for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and what celebrities had to say about the device.  What we didn’t see was Paris Hilton who has been known for using a BlackBerry for quite some time now.  She’s been spotted using a white BlackBerry Bold 9000 frequently, but the photos could be old as she most likely went for a Bold 9700 after (perhaps in white as well).  Any way, here she poses by what looks like to be a show case for her shoes collection sporting her new BlackBerry Torch 9800.  This brings me back to my question yesterday as to whether or not the Torch 9800 will take place of the Bold 9700 in the celebrity world.  It’s too early and we haven’t seen enough paparazzi shots with the Torch yet, but the Bold 9700 seems to be the preferred device in Hollywood.

Just a small update here from WordPress for their BlackBerry application.  It looks like there have been several issues with the latest version, so 1.4.1 has released with the following change log:

  • Fixed empty title issue for those blogs with “Site Title” field set to empty value.
  • Fixed an issue on the comments screen that doesn’t permit editing of comments with weird characters within URL or e-mail field.
  • Introduced a better integration with the VideoPress service and the WordPress.com Space-Upgrade option.
  • Added support for the blog shortcut icon.
  • Minor bug fixing

This is some interesting information.  But let’s quickly walk through what Cellmania is.  Cellmania is a mobile solutions company that works with mobile carriers all over the world.  They provide the world’s largest repository of mobile content amounting in 200,000+ items in over 100 countries.  They provide different types of media including ringtones, java content, and videos.  The main purpose was transferring media over the air (OTA) to mobiles. So what is RIM looking to accomplish wit this acquisition?  It looks like RIM is looking to give BlackBerry App World an even better kickstart by adding fresh and newer content to it.  Head over to Cellmania to view the new partnership banner.

Some of these games we’ve listed have been created by other designers as set as premium, so hopefully you’ll learn to appreciate these.  A fine example is Asteroids.  If you check it out in the PocketBerry Store, it’s about 5 bucks to download, but free using the link below.  So here’s 5 shooter games confirmed to work with the BlackBerry Bold 9700.  If you try it on other devices and it works, drop us a line!

OS Updates »

The BlackBerry Oxford 9670 has not arrived yet, but the typical routine seems to be OS leaks to surface first, then the device later.  BBLeaks put up a post today with some download links to a 6.0.0.180 OS for the Oxford 9670 so for those of you who currently have some pre-release units on hand, you can definitely look into it.  This OS could be internally for Sprint testing at the moment or something maybe earlier on but it is at .180, higher than what we have seen for any other BlackBerry 6 OS leak.

Just yesterday we received the all new BlackBerry Wireless Headset HS-700 in to check out.  We had all day to play around with it and try it out.  So with that said, a review was more than ready to be in play.  The HS-700 is one of the most unique Bluetooth headsets I have ever used.  I have a lot of friends that have trouble using these wireless headsets due to trouble pairing, lack of battery life, and all other sorts of nonsense.  The HS-700 takes Bluetooth wireless headsets to a whole new level with amazing options, features, and of course a very sleek design.

Here’s an awesome video I spotted over at the BlackBerry YouTube channel showing highlights from the BlackBerry Torch Red Carpet Launch party featuring celebrities from all over including 90210, Twilight Saga, Entourage, and more.  Drake even makes an appearance and once again preaches on the fact that he uses his BlackBerry every single day to write music.  So now I’m guessing celebrities will be leaving their Bold 9700 devices for the Torch 9800, or perhaps the smaller QWERTY device is preferred?  Either way this video is entertaining to watch so enjoy it!

Carrier News, Leaked Content »

[24 Aug 2010 | No Comment | ]

Based on this screenshot leaked out from BBLeaks, this Vodafone UK web screenshot shows that the R020 aka Bold 9780 is coming.  We also see other devices including the BlackBerry Torch 9800 which we knew was coming any way.  This here though is the first indication of a carrier releasing the Bold 9780 so it’s a pretty big deal.  As for the device? We already know it’s a refreshed version of the BlackBerry Bold 9700, but it’s got a nice 512MB of RAM with the capability of saving apps to the MicroSD card.  Awesome.  We’ll be seeing US carriers getting in on this device too I’m sure.  Will it be AT&T, T-Mobile, or both?  I strongly believe that both carriers should very well get the refresh since the 9700 does very well with the two carriers.

Wow.  All I have to say is, it’s about time.  We have devices roaming around with BlackBerry 6 OS, and AT&T has just decided to put out OS 5.0 for the BlackBerry Bold 9000.  Why wouldn’t people put leaked OS versions at this point?  So if any of you still have this throwback device, you can feel free to download this officially for your AT&T device.  Enjoy!

Thanks @twitthemuse for the tip!
