Just a quick note, because usually devices such as the BlackBerry Bold end up getting new colors later into the lifetime of the device.  Now right from the beginning in the internal presentation of the Bold R020 (9780), it’s announced that the device will be available in both black and white color with a black non-camera version available as well.  Also the “rails” or as we like to call “bezels” will be charcoal, similar to the BlackBerry Torch 9800.

Something I failed to mention earlier was an awesome feature that I spotted in these new BlackBerry Bold R020 leaked slides.  As we’ve wanted to do for so long, applications can now be stored on the MicroSD card!  Now it gets pretty feasible to purchase larger memory cards (16gb, 32gb).  We’ve had archiving applications before and that was just way to silly.  Almost made it pointless to have the application there to begin with.  This is definitely a huge improvement for this device, and I’m glad to see there is more than just the 512MB memory and 5MP camera.  Let’s just hope applications aren’t sluggish via MicroSD card.  Now imagine how many applications you’ll be able to store on a 32GB MicroSD card..

You can already perform some of these things on BlackBerry 6, but ShortcutManager is super cool with everything else it lets you do.  Now you can place physical files on your home screen and click them for easy access such as music and even videos.

This is a huge jump since you don’t have to make any launchers for shortcuts and such anymore.  Anything you can think of: email, SMS, BBM, email, websites, contact, appointment, memo, task, video, song, even defined YouTube searches.  Hit the jump for more features and download link.

Here’s a slide from an internal presentation at RIM showing upcoming “refreshed” devices.  Here we see the Bold R020 which seems to be the refreshed 512MB version of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 we keep hearing about as the 9780.  As you can see there really isn’t much here but aggravation where it says “Powerful Processor – 624MHz.”  That’s just embarrassing compared to other devices out on the market now.  On the brighter side, it will come with BlackBerry 6 and a 5Mp camera.

It looks like Facebook for BlackBerry v1.8.049 just officially launched in BlackBerry App World.  It’s been a hectic day as RIM moved it from private beta in Beta Zone, then open to all Beta Zone, and now officially into BlackBerry App World all in one day.  So it’s here.  One thing I noticed nice about it is that the Friends list loads super fast.  Head over to BlackBerry App World to download today or hit the link below.

So it’s been a crazy day with Facebook for BlackBerry.  First it goes live to select Beta Zone members.  Then it’s open to all Beta Zone members, and now according to BBCool, it’s offline completely.  So for those of you who didn’t get a chance to download it, this is your chance to get this leaked copy over the air.

We’ve had a small taste of on demand shows via BlackBerry recently.  A couple months ago, we tried out Bitbop while it was in beta and now has made its way up to a final release at $9.99 for on demand tv shows to view on your mobile.  As quoted they say the application “will allow subscribers to purchase and rent videos and watch them across multiple devices and multiple platforms.”  There are other devices who will get supported including Android and Windows Mobile.

That’s right! It looks like Rogers Wireless retail store locations have received these displays to show off the BlackBerry Torch 9800 until launch date but have not received the actual units yet.  So Rogers is so far rumored to be getting the Torch some time in September but AT&T remains to be exclusive on the device in the United States for now.  As for this Rogers Torch, it is rumored to come in both black and white but we don’t know if both will be available by launch date.

The folks over at BBNews.pl spotted this Dilbert comic that exemplifies how slow a mobile browser can be.  I see this being in perfect relation with the latest webkit browser on BlackBerry 6 OS as many haven’t been too happy with its speeds.  What do you guys think?
