This could be handy for some, but for me I like everything locked when my BlackBerry is.  For those who want to be able to make outgoing phone calls when your BlackBerry is locked, here’s a step by step guide:

BlackBerry Device Software 4.0

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
  2. Click Security Options.
  3. Change Allow Outgoing Calls While Locked to Yes.

BlackBerry Device Software 4.1 to 4.5

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
  2. Click Security Options.
  3. Click General Settings.
  4. Change Allow Outgoing Calls While Locked to Yes.

BlackBerry Device Software 4.6 to 5.0

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, click Options.
  2. Click Password
  3. Change Allow Outgoing Calls While Locked to Yes.
