Carrier News »

Not big news here, but this leaked screenshot shows that the BlackBerry Torch 9800 training is currently active for Rogers, as they will be launching the device very soon along with a bunch of other carriers. Training on the device doesn’t so much mean how to do this and that on the device, but probably more or so sales pitches and what the big deal is about the Torch and what BlackBerry 6 is all about.

Here’s some humor spotted over at Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings. This time around the GEICO commercial shows the famous gecko using a BlackBerry Curve 85xx, probably the 8530. Could it be the 9300? Perhaps, but that just came out and I’m pretty sure its the older 8500 series. In any case, lizards use BlackBerry too.

That’s not a good sign. So many still see that BlackBerry remains to be a corporate device being dominant in its email function, but what happens when businesses leave it behind for other devices? JPMorgan has reported over the weekend that they have left BlackBerry smartphones and are currently migrating over to the iPhone for all its employees with mobile devices. The move isn’t definite yet, as it is a pilot program being offered to the employees where Android and iPhones take place of the BlackBerry. The company is obviously unhappy with what it currently has and is looking to explore other possibilities.

This makes me want to switch back to my JawBone for sure. Something I found cool about the iPhone and the Apple Bluetooth headset was that you could see the headset’s battery level right on the iPhone screen. Now it looks like JawBone has an app available that allows you to see the battery meter right on the home screen up top.
