It looks like dates just keep switching up.  Originally we were expecting it all to happen tomorrow, but I guess not.  The latest buzz says that Rogers has set the BlackBerry Torch 9800 to launch on September 30th.  That’s what a source told us, let’s see if it is true.

For those who live under a rock, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 has faced all sorts of delays in the Canadian region due to some software problems (that’s what the rumor says but who knows).  There’s no indication as to what the out of box OS is going to be yet, but I’m pretty damn sure it will be higher than the .141 lousy OS the AT&T Torch rolled out with.

So months ago we had spotted the AT&T bottom bezel for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G assuming that AT&T would be getting the device in the near future.  A few days ago, we got confirmation on an October 3rd launch date.  Now we’re seeing a T-Mobile branded bezel for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G as well which is quite shocking to see.  Back at WES, we found out that T-Mobile had denied the Pearl 3G to take on a 3G version of the 8520 which is the 9300 released now.

The description states that is indeed OEM, so I guess it really can’t get clearer than that.  The color shown is black as we saw it in the maroon/red for AT&T (probably the gradient one).  So who knows when we’ll be seeing the Pearl hit up T-Mobile but it could be a few months as the roadmaps do predict the Bold 9780 is up next for the carrier.

Here’s a new commercial out on the BlackBerry YouTube channel showing how Rugby players use the BlackBerry Torch 9800, mainly for Facebook here.  There are a few other videos up on the channel including one for a DJ and vet, exemplifying how they use the BlackBerry in the workplace to get things done.

We want to know where your interest is when it comes to the new Storm expected to release from Verizon Wireless.  The BlackBerry Storm 9570 appears to be the same shell (body) as the previous BlackBerry Storm 2 9550/9520 which is disappointing many.  Under the hood we have 512MB instead of 256MB, a 5MP camera on the back, and of course BlackBerry 6 ready (we’re assuming it comes with 6.0 out of the box).  So drop us a line in the comments, a tweet, or even participate in the poll above and let us know if you’re getting the new Storm or not.

It looks like UberTwitter updates once again – and as always equipped with new features and further bug fixes.  Here’s the full change log:

  • Bug Fix – Fixed a bug where the menu key would become unresponsive and occasionally the device would lock up. This same bug likely was causing excessive battery usage over time.
  • New Themes – You asked and we delivered two new themes! The Midnight theme which we think many of you will find extremely appealing, and the Über Classic theme which brings back many of the color choices of version 0.971 including the same solid colors for @replies and DMs
  • Filtered ÜberChannels – You loved ÜberChannels, but now we think you’ll love it even more! When you pull up the timeline for an ÜberChannel the tweets are now filtered so that you will only see on-topic tweets. Not seeing all of the extraneous tweets, especially on a mobile device, should make the ÜberChannel experience much better!
  • Brighter Themes – Listening to your feedback we have reworked the colors in all of the existing themes to make the brighter and more vibrant.
  • Notification Flowers – Everyone liked the uniqueness of the notification ‘flowers’ on the main icon when you had a new tweet/@reply or DM, we made them even better by including a red and white star in the middle to make them stand out.

Here’s some more of the BlackBerry Storm 9570 which broke loose late last night in a not so clear photo.  Now we know the device we saw the other day is something else and not the third generation Storm.  What could it be? In any case here’s the Storm 9570, looks the same as the Storm 2 9550 which is too disappointing.  It’s got 512MB of memory and BlackBerry 6 on it though. And don’t forget the amazing 5MP camera.  Come on RIM.  More pics after the jump!

There has been all sorts of delays in Canada for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 launching due to some sort of software errors of some sort, but so far it looks like Rogers is staying on track for a September 24th launch date.  Now retail stores in Canada are starting to get in BlackBerry Torch dummies which still makes it possible for both a September 24th launch date, or even a little delay but we’ll have to wait and see in any case.

This just came up on the BlackBerry YouTube channel and it looks very identical to the first teaser we saw of BlackBerry 6 back at WES 2010 in April.  So basically the only differences I picked up here was the background music and the music selection that the female character selects in the beginning.  Originally it was the Black Eyed Peas, for those who remember.
