Premium Games »

We’ve been testing this game out for a few days now and today it has officially launched. Aces Jewel Hunt is one of the most addictive puzzle matching games I’ve ever played and works well on both touchscreen and QWERTY BlackBerry models. The whole idea of the game is to match up jewels together to make the “explode” or simply go away. There are specific ones that need to be taken out in each level and it gets harder and harder as you go on. There’s three different modes to play on and three levels of difficulty. Here are some features:
- Three different game types: Classic, Timed, and Quick Challenge!
- Easy, Medium, and Hard difficulties!
- Online Leaderboards for each game: daily, weekly and overall!
- Tracks tons of statistics!
- Tutorials available to get you started!
- Vibrant and attractive graphics!
- Specials include net, spear, vine, concrete block, and more!
- Tumbling gems create huge captures!

For those of you waiting around for the BlackBerry PlayBook, we want to know which one you would be interested in. Back at DEVCON, we did see a 16GB and 32GB model, although RIM didn’t really announce anything about the memory really. There could be a 64GB we don’t know about- but since we haven’t seen anything about that yet, we’ll stick with these two sizes. Assuming you’ll purchase one when it launches, which one will you get – 16GB or 32GB?

According to an article I read over at eWeek, the BlackBerry PlayBook could be launching as expected at the end of February or early March. The article gets more into the BlackBerry Storm 3 and all the confusions of whether or not it has been canceled. But back to the PlayBook, rumors surfaced that the device isn’t doing so well in testing and is having issues but seeing a launch date estimate at end of February or early March does not seem so bad, allowing RIM a chance to compete in the tablet market. Anything later than that just seems too much of a risk where the market is already filled with iPads and Android tablets then RIM just squeezes in.

Back at DEVCON, I saw that Ronen from BerryReview had BerryReader working on his BlackBerry Torch and was interested to see how it worked on it since I had not carried that app over from my Bold to Torch. It was pretty functional but did have a lot of freezes so I didn’t find it worth while to try. Ronen just put out the word that BerryReader v1.1 now has official BlackBerry Torch support. So everyone who was waiting for it to come around, you can finally pick up a copy.

I don’t know about you all, but I did use the eBay application quite frequently on my BlackBerry Bold 9700. When switching to the BlackBerry Torch 9800, I was disabled of it and could only use the mobile/full site via browser. Yesterday we got the word that the official eBay application for BlackBerry has been updated to v1.02 with Torch support. This version is only for BlackBerry 6 users as others rockin’ 5.0 will get another update.

It’s been awhile since we had any leakage on the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, so here’s a leaked OS – no it’s not BlackBerry 6 yet. Bla1ze over at CrackBerry got hold of OS 5.0.0.921 late last night which works for both the 9100 and 9105 model. Download and install at your own risk of course. Speaking of the Pearl 3G, we’re excited that a big US carrier is finally launching it too so these leaks will mean more to some of you then once the device hits the streets here.

Not too long ago, RIM launched the BlackBerry Wireless Headset HS-700, which came to be a really good Bluetooth headset competitive with the others available on the market. We just got word today that they have launched another slimmer version, the HS-300. Here are some key features:
- Smart and clean design – The sleek and stylish HS-300 is small, streamlined and simple to use.
- Rapid charging – With just 15 minutes of charging, the HS-300 can give up to two hours of talk time.
- Simple pairing – The HS-300 and BlackBerry smartphones work together seamlessly. The headset also supports other smartphones featuring Bluetooth HFP profiles.
- Voice prompts – The HS-300 talks to you, chiming in when the battery is getting low, when it’s on mute and more.
- Automatic volume control – When the noise level around you changes, the headset is designed to automatically increase or decrease the volume to maintain a comfortable listening level.
Now most of you know that all of RIM’s previous headsets were high up in price. The HS-300 goes for only $49.99, making it realistic for you looking to score any affordable headset.
