Well, that’s what the hat tip says so far.  According to TheBerryFix, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 is expected to come to Rogers Wireless in Canada on October 27th.  The rumor also says that it will be $148.99 on a three year strings attached contract.  That’s an odd price, but we’ll let it slide for the Canadians.

So what we know about the Bold 9780 is that it has a 5MP camera, 512MB of memory, BlackBerry 6 OS, and a darker chrome bezel on the outside than the original Bold 9700.

Virgin Mobile is good to go with the device this month, and if these rumors are true, so is Rogers.

No breaking news here – just wanted to give you all the heads up that Copter is now available at the PocketBerry Store for free as well.  Last week we let you know that it arrived to App World, but in case some of you didn’t grab it yet, or would rather deal with MobiHand for whatever reason, click the link below to download it free today.  Copter is very addictive and most of you have played it before on flash game websites in the past.

It looks like another BlackBerry Torch 9800 giveaway is going on the interwebs.  We just got the word from SmrtGuard that they are giving out the BlackBerry Torch 9800 in a contest.  Here are the rules:

  • Go to the SmrtGuard Facebook Page at facebook.com/SmrtGuard and click on the “Like” button at the top of the screen to follow SmrtGuard on Facebook.
  • Next, go to your profile page or your news stream and create a new status message that describes, in 100 words or less, why you like SmrtGuard and how it has helped you protect your phone, your data or has helped keep you safe with features like Personal Guardian. In your post, make sure to include the “@SmrtGuard” tag in order to link it to the fan page.
  • Before you share your post, make sure the setting directly above the status message box says “Share: Status with Everyone.” You may need to select “Everyone” from the drop down menu if it’s not already selected. (This allows SmrtGuard to be able to read your post for the contest and it will NOT change your Facebook privacy settings).

So the rules are pretty simple.  Do as they say, and you’ll be entered to win a BlackBerry Torch 9800.

I’m not going to criticize any theme builders out there or point fingers, but I have not found any good BlackBerry Torch themes since the new BlackBerry Theme Studio 6 launched during DEVCON.  While browsing through the PocketBerry Store, I came across this one here called Fast Torch.  Now it isn’t free to download, but if you would like a BlackBerry Torch theme fix, definitely settle for this one here.  Click the link below with more screenshots and information on Fast Torch.

We just got the word from Qwell that their call blocking application which was originally $3.99 per month is now absolutely free.  So for all those who were looking deep into call blocking applications but bumped into one too many premium ones, try Qwell out.

They are also releasing a pro version in the near future with more features on it, but any version they have available now is absolutely free.

Here’s something we forgot about and were completely out of the loop for.  For those who forgot, the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9330 launched about a month ago for Verizon Wireless, but both colors weren’t available.  It looks like the metallic Fuchsia is now available for only $29.99 on a two-year contract when ordered online.  For a new BlackBerry on the market that’s BlackBerry 6 ready, it’s a pretty good deal.  Definitely beats the in-store price where you’ll end up paying about $50 more, and the other crazy fees they may add.

It says BlackBerry Bold 9780, but didn’t they use the wrong picture in the advertisement? I could be wrong, but that looks like a Bold 9650 to me.  In any case there’s already word that the Bold 9780 is headed to Virgin Mobile, this was just a misprint of the image.  We also see the BlackBerry Torch 9800, which already made its debut so we won’t get into that. Still no word from any big carriers in the United States on the 9780, so we sit and wait still.

At least we get launch date and prices.  The BlackBerry Bold 9780 will be launched on October 21st, at only $149.99
