Just a little tease for all you waiting around for BlackBerry 6 to surface on the interwebs, here’s 6.0.0.285 for the Bold 9780. The BlackBerry Bold 9780 still hasn’t made its way to any market officially but you know how it is with the leaks showing up everywhere before the device comes out. In my opinion we’ve seen one too many leaks for this model – so somebody release the device already! If you’re one of the few lucky ones carrying out a pre-release, feel free to grab a copy of the OS and let us know what you find in this build.

BlackBerry 6 – are we there yet? Nope. Instead we get teased of border line end of OS 5.0. This is OS 5.0.0.979 for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 – now the latest OS out there. Keep in mind it is leaked so download and install at your own risk. Just as a disclaimer before we start getting emails all over again, we do not have any leaked copy of 6.0 for the Bold 9700 but I have to say it works really well on it as we got to try it out hands on at DEVCON last week. In any case, let this latest OS keep you company for the time being.

This OS version has came to us as a leak and official in Canada, but we just got word from BBCool that AT&T has released the same version as well. It is available on the BlackBerry website officially, but I’m not sure if a wireless update is in play yet. In any case, hit the link below to download the latest and greatest for the Torch on AT&T.

It looks like the BlackBerry Curve 9330 and Bold 9650 continue to get OS leaks together or this is just one creepy coincidence. Last time we saw .222 leak for both and today .280 certainly came to both as well. So if you have a BlackBerry Curve 9330 and missed out the last 6.0 leak or would just like to try this build out, hit one of the links below and you’ll be good to go.

Boost Mobile just got its 3G fix with the “all new” BlackBerry Curve 8530 now available. I know it’s pretty much not a big deal to a lot of you out there, but it definitely stands for something when it comes to prepaid BlackBerry smartphones in the United States. It’s been awhile since we touched up on the BlackBerry Curve 8530, so here’s a quick recap on the specs:
- Built-in Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g), full QWERTY keypad and optical trackpad navigation
- Access to BlackBerry App World™, featuring a broad and growing catalog of third-party mobile applications developed specifically for BlackBerry® smartphones

It looks like the BlackBerry Bold 9650 gets another BlackBerry 6 leak. Where’s the love for the Bold 9700? I know many of you are waiting for it but we should be seeing something come up soon – obviously a leak also. In any case, this is OS 6.0.0.280 for the BlackBerry Bold 9650. Previously we had seen .222, so we don’t expect to see many changes in this version other than some bug fixes – if that. Download and install at your own risk.
UPDATE: We got more links available via BBLeaks. Enjoy!

Well when we say soon, we really mean in the “next upcoming months” which just makes it all even more vague. Straight from the official Mozilla Blog, it says that Firefox Home will be coming to BlackBerry soon. Many are getting this confused, thinking that it’s just another mobile web browser. Firefox Home works with your Firefox loaded on your PC or Mac keeping track of history and bookmarks so you can have them on the go right on your BlackBerry. Currently it is available for the iPhone and holds some popularity there. Let’s just hope the BlackBerry version is very lightweight with a reasonable UI.

So this wasn’t a major poll with breaking results that everyone’s standing around drooling to find out what came to be. It was interesting to see how BlackBerry Torch users did tweet though, and this was more for my own personal understanding than it was anything else. I was always a fan of UberTwitter, but I fancied SocialScope way too much and depended on it big time. With it not available on the BlackBerry Torch, I have been handicapped from using it and just stuck with the stock Twitter for BlackBerry which isn’t too bad. Any way, here were the full results:
- Twitter for BlackBerry – 63.04%
- UberTwitter – 26.09%
- Other -8.7%
- Mobile Site – 2.17%
The poll results do show that Twitter for BlackBerry is the most popular one for the Torch as more than half of all Torch users who casted a vote said they use it. Next in line came UberTwitter which is one of the most popular BlackBerry Twitter applications available. The other two, “other” and “mobile site” came in last place as it really just comes down to the two big ones on the Torch.
