I did. Yesterday I wiped out all data off my BlackBerry Curve 9330 running BlackBerry 6 OS, and when I went back in to setup email accounts, I was prompted with an update available for the Email Setup App located in the Setup menu. Ronen from BerryReview received a tip as well that the same thing happened on a BlackBerry Bold 9650 running 6.0 as well. This could mean something in the works for an official 6.0 release from Verizon Wireless coming up soon. Have any of you received this message?

Finally! We get to see some PlayBook action at last. We were teased by it at DEVCON, but never saw an actual hands on experience. The video comes from a hands-on demo at Adobe Air Max conference which started today. Here’s a little snippet of some PlayBook action.
In the video we see a YouTube video playing right in the browser – and yes it’s embedded. No external player required! I know it’s not much but it’s a good tease once again. We’ll be seeing more hopefully in the future.

Facebook for BlackBerry has been rumored to update for months now. Many of you were waiting for a new UI with new features including Facebook chat, but it looks like that is not included here. This is the list of new features included:
- Dedicated Inbox – View your Facebook messages in one separate inbox or within your BlackBerry messages inbox. The app pre-fetches 30 of your existing messages, and will then continue to sync messages on your BlackBerry smartphone with your Facebook inbox.
- Facebook Search – Search for individuals and pages, making it easy to find mutual friends, add friends and “like” pages. For BlackBerry 6 users, Universal Search will pull Facebook results too!
- Enhanced Friends List and Page List – View Friends profile photos and pages in list form
- Redesigned Navigation Bar – View your own profile and click on the Search and Message icons with the new navigation bar

WordRival has updated over the weekend once again. I’m liking the updates so far as they aren’t taking long to fix issues and the developers are staying on top of it really well. This version is 1.0.9 and the noticeable changes we see is the UI a lot cleaner with new colors added to the board, and we notice some bugs were fixed. Some of the issues we were having included placing pieces on the board and having your cursor jump to the other side of the board rather than the spot you wanted originally. Hard to explain, but to make a long story short, the update is good.
If you already have WordRival, head over to My Account to update it if you haven’t been prompted already or purchase a copy today and get in on the online Scrabble-style gaming. Otherwise grab a free trial here.

We’ve posted about BlockBerry a long time ago, and things got quiet for awhile with the game, but it looks like the game is back in action, updated to work for the BlackBerry Torch 9800. If you’re looking for some Tetris action on your BlackBerry, then BlockBerry is the way to go.

A few months ago we let you know about the Starbucks application for BlackBerry that allowed you to manage your Starbucks cards, transfer balances, reload cards, and even pay via mobile if the store supported mobile payments. We knew about it in North Carolina and Seattle which mad us anxious to see it in larger popular cities. With that said, New York City is on it as well now. Three hundred stores in New York City, Suffolk, and Nassau County are now mobile payment ready so check a Starbucks out near you to see if they are participating.
